There are plenty of players to know about in rural Georgia, but many have a hard time getting their name out their in the recruiting world due to playing in small towns. There are some up and coming receivers to know about, and many of them can absolutely play at the next level somewhere.
Here are some top "small town" wide receivers that still don’t hold a D1 offer...
[player_tooltip player_id="145593" first="Jaden" last="Gibson"] - Rabun County
One of the top receivers in all of North Georgia, Gibson has become a favorite target so far for elite QB [player_tooltip player_id="33862" first="Gunner" last="Stockton"], who recently broke the career passing TD record last week. Gibson has been extremely reliable all season and is one of the state’s leading receivers at the moment. He has good size at 6-foot-2 175-pounds and has great hands. He’s a guy who can beat defenses deep with his speed and can take a quick screen pass the distance if needed. He’s a good route runner, gets open consistently, and is one of the best after the catch that you’ll find across North Georgia. The playmaking wideout has caught 40 passes for 966 yards and 9 TDs so far this season.

In Middle Georgia is where you’ll find one of the top up and coming receivers in the state. Another playmaking junior, the 2023 wideout has been consistent all year and has been tough for any defensive back lined up against him all year. A smaller, quicker receiver at 5-foot-11 60-pounds, Franklin’s best game this season came against rival Perry in week 3 where he caught 11 passes for 167 yards. He’s only found the endzone 4 times this year, but he’s lit up the stat sheet so far with 50 receptions for 844 yards. He’s explosive in the screen game and dangerous in the open field. He can stop and change directions and can take off with the ball in a hurry. If he keeps playing the way he has all season, it may be only a matter of time before college coaches start to take notice.

Bailey Dameron - Dawson County
Another North Georgia standout, the Dawsonville native has made a giant impact in every game so far, making him one of the state’s leading receivers at the moment. The 6-foot-0 175-pounder is a good athlete and does everything the right way. He has good hands and knows how to run a. ice route and create separation. He’s the best player they have at Dawson County and opponents still can’t find a way to slow him down. Dameron has recorded over 100 receiving yards every game this season so far. He’s also scored a touchdown in 4 of the team’s first 6 games. He’s a deep-field threat who guards the opposing DB away from the ball. He’s faster than he looks and can get behind defenses with ease if they aren’t ready. So far this season, Dameron has caught 33 passes for 740 yards, averaging out to 22.4 yards per reception.

Cam’ron Lacy - Stephens County
Another smaller player with big-play potential, the North Georgia receiver has the potential to be an excellent slot option at the next level. Just a junior, Lacy has been an explosive option for the Stephens County offense this year and has had a true nose for the endzone when the ball is in his hands. Only 5-foot-10 and 150-pounds, Lacy is a quick, shifty playmaker who is tough to corral for any bigger defensive back. He has good burst and can fly past defenders if given any open space. When he has the ball with room to run, it looks like he’s playing in fast-forward compared to everyone else. Not only is he one of North Georgia’s leading receivers, but he’s an excellent return man as well due to his speed and explosiveness. He currently has 23 receptions for 734 yards, averaging 32 yards per reception this year. He’s also scored 8 touchdowns so far in his junior season.

Bailey Stockton - Prince Avenue Christian
The Wolverines may not have 5-star QB [player_tooltip player_id="33652" first="Brock" last="Vandagriff"] anymore, but they still have a high-powered passing attack and junior receiver Bailey Stockton who can catch just about everything. The Wolverines had some impact seniors leave last year so Stockton is taking full advantage of his starting role this year as a junior. A shifty, quicker receiver at 5-foot-10 170-pounds, Stockton has earned over 43 catches for 655 yards and 8 touchdowns. He doesn’t have a D1 offer right now, but as a junior, he still has plenty of time to win over college coaches, especially if he continues to play the way he has so far this season.
