Here is the NW Ohio Round-up of players who have made significant impacts all season long. This article is part one of a long list of players you should get to know.
Thomas Foust, Cardinal Stritch – 2022 – QB
- Thomas accounted for seven total touchdowns in a losing effort to Edon Friday night. They will play Colonel Crawford Eagles in round one of the playoffs.
Hayden Wickard, Elmwood – 2023 – QB
- Wickard and company took the show on the road to Rossford and came up with a big victory. Check out his highlights, player to watch!</li>
Caleb Rowell, Bowsher – 2022 – RB
- Rowell finished the season with 79 attempts, 789 yards, and 6 TDs. Caleb caught the ball 29 times for 519 with 4 TDs for the Blue Racers. His team did not have much success, but he showed flashes each game of his next-level ability.
D’Andre Cartlidge, Whitmer – 2022 – WR
- Cartlidge is one of the most dynamic players in Northwest Ohio. D’Andre has made big plays for the Panthers all year long, and none more significant than this Kick return to the house!</li>
Drew Gallehue, Edon – 2022 – QB
- Drew completed a remarkable career at Edon high school, finishing with a league title and school records. Drew ended the regular season with 511 yards passing in a big victory over Ottawa Hills. Gallehue finished his career with over 10,000 passing yards.
Jaylen Young, Whitmer – 2022 – RB
- One of the biggest surprises of the season was the impressive play of Jaylen Young. When Steven McCoy Steven McCoy 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Whitmer | 2022 OH transferred to Whitmer, things looked bleak for young, but he stayed the course. Young finished the season with over 900 yards rushing while leading the league.
Antwain Ulis Jr, Waite – 2022 – RB
- The St. Francis transfer made his way back to Waite for his senior year and did not disappoint the Indian faithful. Ulis missed four games this season, but that did not stop him from making an impact. Antwain had two games when he rushed for over 200 yards, 235 vs. Scott and 300 vs. Bowsher. Ulis finished the regular season with 10 TDs.
Jalil Burnside, Start – 2022 – DB
- Burnside finished the season with a league title as he opened and finished the game with an interception vs. the Rogers Rams. Burnside showed his versatility as he started as a cornerback and moved to FS to finish the season.
