The next week of region games were slightly less stressful thanks to these four players’ efforts last Friday.
Tyler Haley Tyler Haley 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Beaufort | 2022 State SC , Beaufort – After a rough showing in a Week 5 loss to Oceanside Collegiate, Haley returned to his normally efficient form in a Region VII-4A win against Hilton Head. He completed 10-of-16 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown and scrambled for a 20-yard run. When Haley and this offense protect the ball, Beaufort is dangerous.
Taeshaun Sellers, Hannah-Pamplico – The 6-foot-1, 180-pound junior was instrumental in the Raiders’ Region V-A victory over Lake View last week. He hauled in eight receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-32 win that put Hannah-Pamplico in the region driver’s seat. The Raiders can clinch the region with an October 22 win against Green Sea Floyds.
Evin Singletary, South Florence – Big games against Darlington aren’t exactly uncommon. But what Singletary did was stretch the imagination. In the first quarter, he returned two punts for touchdowns, helping the Bruins to an overwhelming lead. Then, in the second quarter, the team’s leading receiver this year took his only catch of the game 32 yards for a third touchdown.
Cam Ward Cam Ward 5'4" | 170 lbs | LB Myrtle Beach | 2023 State SC , Myrtle Beach – The junior was every where in a 14-7 win against West Florence. Defensively, he piled up 4.5 tackles for loss and six overall stops. On offense, mostly out of the Seahawks’ Rhino package (a heavy-set wildcat formation) had nine carries for 43 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown run that end up giving Myrtle Beach its winning point total.
