Dominic Ditola – Andrean – DE – 5’10” 235 lbs
Davis forced pressure inside all night and it was because Ditola owned the A and B gaps all night. When they bounced Ditola to the outside, Davis was able to get away. They brought Ditola inside and he finally got Laban. Ditola was relentless and never got tired all night. He almost had another sack but Davis threw the ball away just in time. Ditola finished the night with a sack, 2 TFL, and 6 tackles. This doesn’t count the probably 15 pressures he got on Davis that forced him out of the pocket.
Joseph Eck – Eastside – LB – 5’11” 170 lbs
Eck was all over the field on for Eastside on Friday. He’s the signal-caller for the defense and is the one who will make adjustments on the fly. He’s a guy who trusts his eyes and instincts and will commit to what he sees. He isn’t going to miss many tackles and he’s as sure-handed as they come. He was able to get a sack on the night, tip a pass, and have 11 tackles. Every time an Andrean defender went down, Eck was in the vicinity if he wasn’t making the play himself.
Johnny Eck – Eastside – DB
Johnny and his brother have something in common on the football field. They are always right by the ball on every single play. They give relentless effort on the field and it paid off for both of them. They are both scrappy players who don’t give up on the down. Johnny made a nice interception and returned the ball about 15-yards to set the offense up with great field position. He also added a pair of tackles and a PBU on the night.
Carson Jacobs – Eastside – DB – 6’0″ 165 lbs
Jacobs changed the entire game in about a 6-second span. Andrean was driving again and they were up 14-0. Things looked bleak for Eastside until Jacobs decided to do something about it. Jacobs intercepted a pass and returned it to the house for 6. As one can imagine, the place went wild and it suffocated the air right out of the Andrean sideline. Jacobs also added 7 tackles on the night to match his pick 6.
