Garrett Hebl | LB/RB | LaMoure-Litchville/Marion (2023)
Hebl was the leading tackler for the Loboes defense as one of the only players with double-digit tackles on the morning. When watching Hebl, there was a lot to like about his range he could cover as he could close up gaps and make plenty of key tackles inside those gaps. He also showed off a solid reach for his size. Hebl is one of the promising players defensively that the Loboes will get back in his upcoming senior season to hopefully make another run for a 9B state title. Hopefully, we can see some tape from this young man in the near future!
Caden DeMars | RB/DE | Cavalier (2022)
DeMars was the #1 pass-catcher for the Tornadoes offense. He did a solid job getting his yards in solid chunks as he averaged over a first down per catch on the day. Defensively there was a lot to like about his shedding ability at the defensive end as I saw on numerous plays him get off his blocks at a solid rate.
Tate Mart | DB/WR | LaMoure-Litchville/Marion (2023)
The best way to describe Tate Mart on defense on Friday morning was a total menace in the secondary in the best way possible. The vision he showed on logging those two key interceptions was exceptional and really were game-changers for the L-LM defense as Mart finished his junior season with eight interceptions with yet another year in 2022 where I see him improving even more. This young man plays with a lot of heart despite not having the most ideal measurables and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get double-digit interceptions in 2022.
Landon Carter | RB/OLB | Cavalier (2023)
Carter provided a deeper range of longer routes on his two catches on the day which averaged nearly 25 yards per catch. When I zoomed in on plays of this kid, it has to excite Coach Greenwood and the Tornadoes’ future, as Carter was a fighter for yards after contact and really left it all on the field as one of the top incoming seniors on this Cavalier roster.
Tony Hanson | TE/LB | LaMoure-Litchville/Marion | 2023
Hanson was the top dog at wide receiver for the Loboes. He only needed three receptions to gather 80 yards of offense and a touchdown. Hanson showed off his legs on deeper routes, using his speed out the gates to blow by the corners take the top off the secondary. Hanson is another blessing that the Loboes will get back for a senior season, as he ended his season on a high note logging nearly 1/2 of the yards in this game as he had all season. Hanson finished strong which should give him momentum going into his senior season.
Brysen Cleem | QB/FS | Cavalier (2022)
Cleem showed off some solid versatility in Friday morning’s 9B state championship. His footwork when on the run was his biggest asset as his quick turns led to separation and a bulk of more yards coming his way. On his second touchdown of the day, I was super impressed with his touch on that longer throw and the precision he showed putting the ball right on the money to get the Tornadoes a 27-yard touchdown. Based on the skillsets I watched on this of the ball, I certainly think Cleem has a future playing college football with his solid size, athletic skill set, etc. I certainly think local D2 and NAIA programs should be taking a good look at this young man.
Brady Lettenmaier | RB/LB | LaMoure-Litchville/Marion (2023
It’s no secret that Lettenmaier was a straight-up workhorse for the Loboes on Friday morning. The younger and undersized Tornadoes’ defensive line had a heck of a time getting this 6’1 185 pound running back prospect to the turf. Lettenmaier showed a well-put-together lower body with a high level of stamina to log more than 30 carries on Friday morning and over 200 rushing yards. He was able to wear down the Cavalier’s defense on every scoring drive and set up plenty of attempts for the Loboes in the red zone. Lettenmaier is a prospect I hope to get some film on this offseason, as I feel he will have another wrecking ball type season in his senior season and get a college football opportunity.
Jake Steele | LB/RB | Cavalier | 2023
Steele was the leading tackler for the Tornadoes, but man he contributes in so many ways on both sides of the football field. I love watching his physicality on tackles go to work as he’s already a well-put-together junior (6’1 185) linebacker that has a lot of potential going into his senior season. He also has an outstanding motor that just unleashes all of his speed to get to the football quickly. Steele also has good awareness when back in coverage. Steele will be one of the top returning leaders in my eyes as the Tornadoes turn the page to 2022.
Corban Potts | QB/DB | LaMoure-Litchville/Marion | 2022
Potts was an absolute game-changer around the red zone all morning long for the Loboes. He showed strong athleticism when extending plays outside the pocket. Potts also showed great poise wherever he was positioned on the field. His zip on the football was strong too, as it didn’t take long to realize that Potts also plays baseball based on his longer windup on his throws. When he was running to the outside he showed some polish as far as his balance as he looked comfortable using his feet around the sideline. Potts could be a solid small-school prospect as a 3-year starter at quarterback for LaMoure-Litchville/Marion.
