Continue ReadingOn Saturday afternoon December 18th, 2021 I went to Dallas, TX to watch the UIL 6A Division I State Championship High School football game at The AT&T Stadium. This game was between The North Shore Mustangs (15-1) vs The Duncanville Panthers (13-2). Both teams are highly respected and have fought and beaten every great Texas football team to get to the state finals. The game started off with North Shore scoring 1st with two minutes left in the 1st quarter. Then Duncanville strike back in the 2nd quarter and was also able to score. After halftime during the 3rd quarter, they both kicked a field goal tieing up the game at 10-10. However, during the 4th quarter The North Shore Mustangs scored one final touchdown and kept The Duncanville Panthers from scoring. This resulted in a final score of 17-10 making North Shore the 6A Division I State Champions. I will be discussing The North Shore Mustangs standouts on both offense and defense.
North Shore Offense
#15 Kaleb Bailey QB Fr
Kaleb Bailey is an exceptional quarterback especially for just being a freshman. For Kaleb in his freshman season leading his whole high school football team to the state championship and winning it is a huge accomplishment. Kaleb is a solid passer and is fast when he needs to run the ball. For these traits Kaleb was named offensive MVP and he ended the game with 10 of 13 passes completed with two touchdown passes.
#8 David Amador WR Jr 6’1 185 lbs
David Amador is a great wide receiver. David is tall, fast and agile. David speed was his most standout trait. David use his speed to beat out his defender and get open for passes. David was always a reliable target and always managed to catch the ball. David is also a college prospect being looked at by many different colleges and universities. David currently has one offer from The University of Texas San Antonio. David wrapped up the game with 7 receptions, 76 receiving yards and one touchdown.
North Shore Defense
#10 Kent Battle MLB Sr 5’10 200 lbs
Kent Battle was always battling it out to get in the action. Kent was fast, strong and tenacious usually finding a way to make a tackle. Kent was integral to North Shore’s defense even once stopping a touchdown run at the 1 yard line. Kent even ran right down the middle for a big sack on Duncanville’s quarterback. Kent was able to end out his high school football career a state champion. Kent is also a top college prospect having numerous college and universities offers from; Louisiana College, Nazarene University, University of Texas Permian Basin, and Howard Payne University.
#97 Kristopher-Ryan Ross DT Sr 6’3 250 lbs
Kristopher-Ryan Ross is an aggressive and strong defensive tackle. Kristopher off the ball was explosive and dynamic resulting in him making a lot of stops. Kristopher was able to get off his block and get into to the backfield leading to the Duncanville quarterback rushing a lot of his throws. Especially, after Kristopher was able to deflect one of his passes. Kristopher was able to end out his high school football career a state champion. Kristopher is also a top college prospect having numerous college and universities offers from; Arizona State University, Arkansas State University, Auburn University, Baylor University, University of Texas, Texas Christian University, Southern Methodist University and many others. Kristopher with all those offers decided to commit to University of Texas to continue his football career.
