.West Linn– I will take the Lions as the state title favorite for the for seeable future. Those aware of the talent coming up through the youth ranks understand all they have ever done is won. Mark Hamper Mark Hamper 6'2" | 205 lbs | ATH West Linn | 2023 State OR and Earl Ingle Earl Ingle 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB West Linn | 2023 State OR are D1 projected athletes with the underclassmen being elite.
.Central Catholic– It’s hard not to put CC #1, even when graduating an unreal senior class, which helped win multiple state titles. Returning PRZ 6A Offensive Player of the Year Cru Newman Cru Newman 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Central Catholic | 2024 State OR and one of the nation’s top TE’s Riley Williams Riley Williams 6'7" | 230 lbs | TE Central Catholic | 2023 OR are just a few of the standouts which will have them in the mix again next year.
.Jesuit– The Crusaders are loaded and return maybe the top line in the state. Double digit all conference athletes will be back for a team who had a legit shot of playing for last year’s title.
.Tualatin– This will be interesting as the T-Wolves graduate a special senior class, but return a QB who in my opinion has the potential of being the top player in Oregon in Jack Wagner Jack Wagner 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Tualatin | 2023 State OR . If the younger guys play up to their potential and the defense shows up, led by the likes of Richie Anderson Richie Anderson 6'4" | 225 lbs | DL Tualatin | 2023 State OR , Will Wilson Will Wilson 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB Tualatin | 2023 State OR and AJ Noland AJ Noland 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Tualatin | 2024 State OR , the sky’s the limit.
.Lakeridge– The Pacers have a lot going for them. D1 projected QB Ryan Oliver Ryan Oliver 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Lakeridge | 2023 State OR returns with a talented line, and elite wideouts in 4* Joey Olsen Joey Olsen 6'6" | 220 lbs | TE Lakeridge | 2024 State OR and Baylor Corbin Baylor Corbin 6'2" | 175 lbs | ATH Lakeridge | 2023 State OR . The biggest question mark comes with the graduation of numerous standouts on defense and the fact that they haven’t beaten the top TRL teams in years past.
.Westview– Sam Leavitt Sam Leavitt 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB West Linn | 2023 State OR and Jordan Fisher Jordan Fisher 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Westview | 2023 State OR are an elite 1-2 punch and they do return one of the best linemen in the state in Campbell Sager Campbell Sager 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL Westview | 2023 State OR . That said as they do graduate the Offensive ( Darrius Clemons Darrius Clemons 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR Westview | 2022 State OR ) and Defensive ( Drew Bennett Drew Bennett 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB Westview | 2022 State OR ) Metro League POY’s, and a bunch of legit senior talent. They will at some point have to beat Jesuit.
.Tigard– The Tigers had an unusual and unimpressive season in 2021 but return double digit all conference athletes and should be back. Expect them to thrive up front with a host of experience returning and use a very talented Konner Grant in abundance.
.Clackamas– I had the Cavs ranked the #2 team in the state for most of the year, primarily due to the line and the likes of Kaden Ludwick Kaden Ludwick 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL Clackamas | 2022 State OR and Logan Chastain Logan Chastain 6'0" | 275 lbs | DL Clackamas | 2022 State OR . Clack will ride Luke Ash Luke Ash 5'9" | 170 lbs | RB Tualatin | 2023 State OR as far as he can take them and will need guys to step up on both the offensive and defensive front. If they are going to make a run Blake Baker Blake Baker 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Clackamas | 2023 State OR and Sullivan McDaniel Sullivan McDaniel 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB Clackamas | 2023 State OR will both need to have POY type seasons.
.Sheldon– If the Irish get good line play, led by the likes of all league standouts Josh Merriman 6-4 270 and Ryan Yakovich Ryan Yakovich 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Sheldon | 2023 State OR 6-5 300, they will be in good shape as they have skill kids for days. Brock Thomas Brock Thomas 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Sheldon | 2023 State OR has a legit supporting cast all around him, including 6-5 190-pound D1 projected athlete Luke Leighton Luke Leighton 6'5" | 195 lbs | ATH Sheldon | 2023 State OR , who could blow up this off season
.Lake Oswego– It’s hard to bet against Steve Coury. Easily one of the best coaches ever to rep the state. But the Lakers graduate a very deep and talented group which you can’t just replace. Calvin Macy and Owen West will need to play out of their minds if they want to compete in the playoffs.
.Sherwood– The Bowmen return one of the most experienced lines state wide including co-offensive lineman of the year Trent Hodney Trent Hodney 6'2" | 290 lbs | OL Sherwood | 2023 State OR . Look for Nolen Scott Nolen Scott 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Owyhee | 2024 State ID to be the key variable as he is one of the best in Oregon for 2024 and maybe the most versatile.
.Liberty– The question becomes can the Falcons make up for the loss of conference POY Hiro Diamond Hiro Diamond 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Liberty | 2022 State OR who literally did everything. Liberty returns one of the most experienced group of underclassmen in Oregon at the 6A level, including a host of all league kids.
.North Medford– On paper North looks like conference title contenders with 1st team all-league big men returning in Terrell Kim Terrell Kim 6'4" | 315 lbs | OL North Medford | 2024 State OR and David Fuiava David Fuiava 6'2" | 290 lbs | DL North Medford | 2023 State OR . At the end of the day, they will go only as far as Ty and AJ Pugliano AJ Pugliano 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE North Medford | 2024 State OR take them. Two of the top players in the state, and in AJ ‘s case the top prospect to come out of Southern Oregon since Chase Cota.
.Roseburg– Coach Dave Heuberger is definitely deserving of the 6A State Coach of the Year honors that he received. 2x 1st all team all-conference & SWC POY Tiger Black Tiger Black 6'3" | 265 lbs | DL Roseburg | 2023 State OR returns along with Sophomore standout RB Cayden Eckel Cayden Eckel 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB Roseburg | 2024 State OR . Heuberger led teams continue to thrive.
.Newberg– Maybe the top 3-7 team in America last season losing a handful of games by a few points to relatively good teams. The Tigers continue to improve and will have returning conference POY Hudson Davis Hudson Davis 5'10" | 210 lbs | RB Newberg | 2023 State OR back.
