Postseason QB Standouts
The 2021 playoffs were loaded with promising prospects here in Arizona. It was a big opportunity on a big time stage for these gunslingers to show what they can bring to the table. Take a look:
Devon Dampier Devon Dampier 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Saguaro | 2023 State AZ , Saguaro ’23
Dampier is most definitely the all-around playoff MVP for the state of Arizona. After logging his first official start against Cactus in the Open Division quarterfinals, Dampier got loose on the ground and was an absolute game changer to help Saguaro past Cactus, Hamilton, and Chandler to win it all. A solid athlete behind center that is a definite threat anytime he takes off given his vision, COD, and speed in space. Very dangerous in space to make opponents miss in a variety of ways, and he did a tremendous job overall of commanding that Saguaro offense.
Angel Flores Angel Flores 6'0" | 210 lbs | QB Casa Grande Union | 2022 State AZ , Casa Grade ’22
Flores had been a dominant 4A QB all season, but his competitive toughness in the playoffs, especially in the state championship, is what lead Casa Grande to secure that 4A State Title. Flores checks all the boxes you could want in a D1 QB. Good football IQ with the ability to make decisive reads and identify favorable matchps. Good arm strength to stretch the field vertically with touch or deliver throws with velocity in tight windows or out routes. Smooth and quick release with excellent body language in his upper half, and possesses solid athleticism to pick up yards on his feet. Overall a very talented QB prospect that will head to Flagstaff as he’ll play ball at Northern Arizona.
What an experience. Love this team, coaches, community. Everything that comes with this game I love playing. #StateChamps pic.twitter.com/5ZfF9KM4Sm

CJ Tiller CJ Tiller 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Rancho Cucamonga | 2023 State CA , Williams Field ’23
Despite the semifinals loss to Chaparral, Tiller still went off in the playoffs, throwing for 828 yards and 11 TD’s in 3 postseason games. Colleges will like his frame and build at 6’3″ 200lbs, as he still has room to add mass. Poised in the pocket and showed the ability to throw with touch and finesse. Solid arm strength to stretch the field vertically, as he has a strong connection with 2023 WR Kyler Kasper Kyler Kasper 6'5" | 195 lbs | WR Williams Field | 2023 AZ . He possesses a solid “self-clock” to sense pressure and escape the pocket, and has shown the ability to deliver throws on the move.
Skyler Partridge Skyler Partridge 5'10" | 170 lbs | QB Horizon | 2022 AZ , Horizon ’22
Patridge did a tremendous job all throughout the playoffs, and showcased a bit of his dual-threat ability which came up big in the state championship win over Salpointe Catholic. He did an excellent job identifying the soft spots in coverages to make decisive reads and get the ball out quick with some zip. Strong at selling the run on play action and can deliver throws with accuracy and velocity off-platform. Partridge did an excellent job extending plays, and shows a nice burst upfield and is shifty in space when he decides to pull it down or on designed QB runs.

Brayten Silbor Brayten Silbor 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Chaparral | 2022 State AZ , Chaparral ’22
Silbor took Chaparral back to the 6A Championship to once again to play Highland, but suffered a 31-10 loss. With the exception of the championship game, Silbor put up some strong numbers in 4 postseason matchups by throwing for 1,092 yards and 11 TD’s. If Silbor gets time to throw, he stands tall in the pocket and scans the field well to dice up any defense. Fluid release with solid timing, and he does a good job distinguishing whether to use velocity vs touch. As pure of a pocket passer as you’ll see here in Arizona, as a top 2022 QB remains unsigned after decommitting from New Mexico in October.
