College teams will be looking to fill out their recruiting classes over the next few weeks. Today we are going to take a look at some senior RB’s who may be flying under the radar a bit.
1. Gideon Ervasti, Verndale High School (6’0″ 200lbs)
Ervasti is a tough/physical RB who possesses enough speed to play RB at the next level. He doesn’t shy away from contact and is lethal running between the tackles. His best trait might be his incredible balance. Ervasti is able to keep his feet underneath him while running through multiple arm tackles, it routinely takes multiple defenders to bring him to the ground. The fact that he played 9-man football might be part of the reason that Ervasti is under the radar at the moment but this is definitely a player I would bet on succeeding at the next level.
2. Conner Tulenchik, Pine River-Backus High School (5’10″ 190lbs)
The leader of the Tiger’s offense racked up over 1,100yds of total offense and 14 TD’s during his senior campaign. Tulenchik is a tough runner who has good balance and shows good vision when running between the tackles. While not a burner, Tulenchik does show good acceleration through the hole and is able to run away from most LB’s. Tulenchik has decent hands but this is definitely an area where he can improve.
3. Levi Richter Levi Richter 5'9" | 165 lbs | DB Perham | 2022 State MN , Perham High School (5’9″ 150lbs)
Speed, agility, and great hands are necessary traits for RB’s to possess. Richter checks all those boxes and then some. His tape is full of highlight reel plays that showcase this on a play-to-play basis. Richter isn’t the most physically imposing RB but he has breakaway speed to leave defenders in the dust and plenty of wiggle in the open field. I’m not sure if Richter has return experience, but this definitely feels like an area where he could impact the game at the next level very early in his career.
4. Beau Fetting, Ada-Borup High School (6’0″ 195lbs)
Fetting led the Northwest District with 20 TD’s this year while also contributing over 1000yds rushing. Fetting is a bigger back who does most of his damage on inside runs and is notorious for moving the pile once he is wrapped up. He has a thick lower half that allows him to run through tackles and drag defenders for extra yards. He isn’t asked to catch the ball much but when he is, he shows soft hands and a natural ability to track and catch the ball.
5. Logan Orvedahl, Moose Lake-Willow River High School (6’0″ 205lbs)
Orvedahl is your classic north and south, no-nonsense type of RB. There isn’t much wiggle to his game but Orvedahl is tough to tackle and utilizes a great stiff arm to help him avoid tackles. He may not look exceptionally fast but Orvedahl has long strides that h
