2024 rankings were released, and we saw ALOT of new additions and changes. Today we will be taking a look at the 2024 new rankings additions. This class is surpassing expectation with this amount of talent, let’s take a look..
Xavier Rivers
Xavier
Rivers
6'2" | 230 lbs | DL
Northwest | 2024
State
MD
Rivers is well above average for the class of 2024. He finished 2021 with 5 sacks and over 50 tackles which is pretty good for just about any sophomore. Rivers possesses explosiveness off the ball that allows him to blow past or right through blockers. Once Rivers has his opponent beat there is no rebound, he’s a dog off the leash. If he has an assignment, he fills that assignment, while being blocked or free rush. At 6’2 230 he’d be the perfect size for a D1 linebacker prospect right now, I’m excited to see him develop over the next 2 years. Rivers has the potential to be the next big recruit out of northwestern high school, he has the right physical attributes and coaching staff to lead the way.

Highlights at yesterday's 2021 MD Big Man camp for Xavier Rivers C/O 2024 Northwest HS. Loved the new facilities as well. Thanks @1HawkIsland for providing @PXavierRivers the OPPORTUNITY! pic.twitter.com/Z7d6x0bcy8

Jerimiah Green Jerimiah Green 5'11" | 175 lbs | ATH Bowie | 2024 MD
Green is a special athlete, playing quarterback, running back, kick/punt return, defensive back, and punt/ kickoff coverage. He has the skillset to be pretty good on either side of the ball but he’s already a threat whenever he has the ball in his hands, offense is his bread and butter. Green rushed for 1000+ yards and passed for 880 this past season. It’ll be interesting to see how he develops as a player over the next 2 years, as a QB or will he branch off from quarterback and use his abilities to light up scoreboards elsewhere. Green is a unique athlete that should be on everyone’s “Sleeper” radar.
Christopher Pond Christopher Pond 5'11" | 170 lbs | K Archbishop Curley | 2024 State MD
Pond just may be the next power 5 kicker out of Maryland. Along with making a 39-yard field goal and a 47-yard game winner, Pond recently won the punting competition at the Khol’s Kicking Camp Eastern Showcase. The ceiling is looking Very high for Pond, kicking forty yarders as only a sophomore. Chris should be labeled as a weapon for the friars in the years to come.

Harry has a springiness about him that really makes him a handful for receivers. I had the opportunity to evaluate Harry at East Coast Volt 7v7 Showcase in November, he was also mentioned by his coach, Coaches Burgos HC at Franklin Highschool during the season as a young player to keep an eye on, I see why. Harry’s body type is very lengthy, he has good hips and changes direction with ease. In coverage is where he demonstrates his “springiness and explosiveness, he has impressive closing speed and the vertical to jump with about any receiver. Athletically he has everything you want in a defensive back, speed, change of direction, long arms, and explosiveness that extends his coverage radius.

Caiden Newsome Caiden Newsome 5'11" | 165 lbs | ATH Calvert Hall College | 2024 State MD
Newsome was a two-way player for the MIAA Champs this season, playing receiver and cornerback. 6’2 is great size for a DB and still good size for a WR, he possesses the skill to play both ways through the rest of his high school career. Newsome is another athlete I had the chance to evaluate at East Coast Volt 7v7 Showcase. He’s an exceptional route runner who runs his routes hard with good head fakes, his hands and catch ability are his weapons. On defense deep ball coverage is his specialty, being 6’2 and those receiver ball skills help him a lot. Newsome was one of the younger players on this dominant Cardinals team, his role will only grow from here as well him physically. He has the potential to become a top athlete in the MIAA.

Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Loyola Blakefield | 2024 State MD
Moore may be the best all-around athlete out of this group. He’s a two-sport athlete (basketball and football), runs a 4.5 40-yard dash, passed for 650 yards and 7 touchdowns, rushed for 418 yards and 8 touchdowns, and had 559 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. Pretty impressive right, the film just makes it better. He is very athletic and elusive, he’s a threat at ant offensive skill position. His ball skills are above average, he’s able to track and catch the ball and use his elusiveness to make the first guy miss for extra yards. Moore is a big play waiting to happen.
