Judah Mallette Judah Mallette DB Chicago Hope Academy | 2023 State IL Twitter
Mr. Mallette was a new name to me this fall season that didn’t come onto my radar until the end of the season. Upon analyzing his full season highlights it’s evident that this young man deserved a spot in our rankings. He’s projected as a man to man corner at the next level that can also get it done in zone coverage as well covering the deep third and deep half. I believe he could also become a nickel corner covering the slot receiver as he has the foundational skill set to hold his own against the speedy slot receiver. He stays on the receiver’s hip pocket limiting the chance of him being broken off at the top of the route and putting him in a position to make a play on the ball. That’s exactly what this young man does as he’s able to attack the ball at the highest point and can undercut routes to come away with interceptions when in man coverage. This all happens with his utilization of smooth and fluid transitions where he does a good job of flipping his hips as well as limiting the chance of the receiver getting to his toes. I believe he has room to develop his press technique and be physical at the line of scrimmage when doing so. Upon doing so, he’s going to elevate his game and disrupt the timing of the route with the quarterback more than he currently does. In my eyes, he has the potential to become an FCS caliber prospect that is currently sitting as a D2/NAIA caliber prospect. Highlights
James Kwiecinski James Kwiecinski 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Lincoln Way East | 2023 State IL Twitter
Mr. Kwiecinski was a name I heard about coming into this fall season and one I was keeping an eye on as it was the first season where he was the primary back for his team. After analyzing his full season highlights it was evident that he earned himself a spot in our rankings. He’s projected as a speed back that can be used in both the air attack as well as in the ground game. I believe his senior season campaign is going to put him on the map and get the much deserved eyes on him. He has the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles as he burst through the line of scrimmage and has that next level gear to outrun pursuit angles as well as blow by 2nd level defenders. This young man has the lateral quickness to turn the corner when running outside zone runs as well as when he bounces the play outside if frontside running lanes get clogged up. Once he clears the first level defenders, he keeps his feet driving breaking weak arm tackles in the process and fights for extra yards. In the air attack, he can catch out of the backfield on halfback screens as well as run short routes to the flat. Upon securing the catch, he gets vertical quickly adding to his yard after the catch. I believe he can line up split out wide in five wide as well as put him in the slot to create a mismatch against either defensive backs or linebackers when running crossing routes. In my eyes, he has the potential to become an FCS caliber prospect and is currently sitting as a D2/NAIA caliber prospect. Highlights
Aiden Cyr Aiden Cyr 6'5" | 195 lbs | QB Hoffman Estates | 2023 State IL Twitter
Mr. Cyr was a new name to me heading into this season and one that came onto my radar within the first few weeks of the season kicking off. Upon analyzing his full season highlights there’s no doubt that he earned himself a spot in our rankings. He’s projected as a pro style quarterback that has the ability to pull the ball down to scramble if need be as a last resort. This young man does a good job both working in platform as well as working out of platform. When working in platform, he navigates the pocket well to get the ball off under pressure and add a touch on the deep ball when doing so. When working out of platform, he can escape pocket pressure and make the throw on the run with his upper/lower half working in unison delivering a strike downfield to keep the chains moving. What’s most impressive about this young man is his ability to add easy velocity across all level throws (level 1, level 2, and level 3). This young man has a good foundational skill set as he’s looking to prepare for his senior season campaign and I expect him to put his name on notice. In my eyes, he has the potential to become an FCS caliber prospect and is currently sitting as a D2/NAIA caliber prospect. Highlights
Asher Tomaszewski Asher Tomaszewski 6'4" | 275 lbs | OL Mount Carmel | 2023 State IL Twitter
Mr. Tomaszewski was a new name to me heading into this fall season and one that jumped onto my radar within the first few weeks of the season. I got the chance to scout one of his games online and upon analyzing his full season highlights he earned himself a spot in our rankings. He’s projected as a run blocking offensive guard at the next level as that pairs better with his foundational skill set. I believe he has room to develop his pass protection further during this off season and once he does he’ll become more of a balanced offensive guard. This young man is agile when pulling as he’s quick out of his stance and latches on quickly. Upon doing so, he can pick up the defensive back playing the alley as well as seal the outside linebacker. When he’s not pulling, he can get to 2nd level blocks cutting off linebacker flow and can wash the defensive lineman down. This all happens with his good initial punch where gets his hands inside and the physicality he showcases at the point of attack. That’s where his power is showcased as he drives the defensive lineman 5+ yards downfield and occasionally drives the defensive lineman into the ground as he finishes plays by keeping his feet driving through the whistle. In my eyes, he has the potential to become an FCS caliber prospect and is currently sitting as a D2/NAIA caliber prospect. Highlights
Wyatt Bohm Wyatt Bohm 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Mahomet-Seymour | 2023 State IL Twitter
Mr. Bohm was a new name to me heading into this season and one that came onto my radar towards the middle of the season. Upon keeping tabs on how this young man was doing in the second leg of the season and analyzing his full season highlights he earned himself a spot in our rankings. He’s projected as a pro style quarterback at the next level that has a good foundation to work both in platform and out of platform. When working in platform, he navigates the pocket well where he can step up to get the ball off under pressure delivering a strike downfield to keep the chains moving. When he works out of platform, he escapes pocket pressure and can make the throw on the run with his upper/lower half working in unison. This young man can add easy velocity across all three level throws (level 1, level 2, and level 3) and is a high effort player. This is seen where he’ll block for his teammates when they reverse field to deliver a lead block. This young man’s foundational skill set sets him up for a senior campaign that’s going to put his name on notice. In my eyes, he has the potential to become an FCS caliber prospect and is currently sitting as a D2/NAIA caliber prospect. Highlights
Jaykwon Armour Jaykwon Armour 6'2" | 150 lbs | DB Phillips | 2023 State IL Twitter
Mr. Armour was a new name to me heading into this season and one that I’m glad came onto my radar. Upon analyzing his full season highlights it’s evident he deserves to be on our rankings. He’s projected as a free safety at the next level that has a strong foundational skill set in coverage. I could also see him being used as a nickel corner to cover the slot as well as be at corner full time if you run a man heavy defensive scheme. When in man coverage, he attacks the ball at the highest point to come away with the interception and can react quickly off tipped passes to secure the interception as well. This all happens with the smooth and fluid transitions he utilized by flipping his hips to transition quickly. Upon doing so, it keeps him on the receiver’s hip pocket limiting the chances of him being broken off at the top of the route and putting him in a position to make plays on the ball. He has room to develop his skill set further and hone his craft as I believe he has untapped potential yet to come to light. This young man has room to add to his frame without losing a step and has room to grow in his run support capabilities. I would like to see him be more physical at the line of scrimmage and showcase his ability to press as this would get a better indicator of where he’s at with his press technique. The good foundational skill set that this young man possesses for man coverage is one to keep an eye on heading into the fall season. In my eyes, he has the potential to become an FCS caliber prospect that is currently sitting as a D2/D3 caliber prospect. Highlights
Ryan Whitwell Ryan Whitwell 6'1" | 195 lbs | DB Batavia | 2023 State IL Twitter
Mr. Whitwell was a name I had on my radar heading into this fall season as I wanted to see how he would produce on a stacked Batavia defense. Upon analyzing his full season highlights he earned himself a spot in our rankings. He’s projected as a balanced safety at the next level that can be utilized as a rover. His foundational skill set allows him to make an impact in both pass coverage as well as in run support. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s utilized at a variety of packages at the next level moving him into the box at times as well as being a nickel corner. This young man stays with his man in coverage by staying on the receiver’s hip pocket limiting the chance of him being broken off at the top of the route and putting him in a position to make a play on the ball. That’s exactly what he does as he can get his hand in the receiver’s basket to force pass breakups and can attack the ball at the highest point to come away with the interception. This all happens with the smooth and fluid transition he utilized as he flips his hips to cover sideline to sideline. Upon diagnosing the run, this young man triggers downhill quickly using his closing speed to secure the open field tackle when playing the alley as well as on the perimeter. I believe he’s going to have a breakout season during his senior campaign and will put his name on notice. In my eyes, he has the potential to become an FCS caliber prospect and is currently sitting as a D2/NAIA caliber prospect. Highlights
