Maryland had a hand full of top athletes in attendance, we will be taking a look at who should be on our radar for a breakout season in 2022.

Willis is a very hungry athlete always looking for ways to increase his stock. Surprisingly Willis was not selected for the All-State Team by the MPSSAA, at the National Combine he showed exactly why he’s ranked as the #2 ATH in the state. Tavin ended the day with not 1, not 2, but 3 INT’s up against the top WR’s in the nation.

Cedric Benning Cedric Benning 5'7" | 190 lbs | RB Episcopal | 2023 VA
Cedric demonstrated his explosiveness and quickness in this drill easily gaining separation from linebackers. This was not surprising as Benning demonstrated that he is power packed and explosive through the 2021 season. He finished the season with 850 yards and 10 TD’s, while sharing carries with Pallotti’s QB and another running back.

Stinespring is a player who has been raising his stock at a steady rate. In 2020 he stood out at a few camps and combines and became a key player on his 7on7 team, Team Future out of Harford County. He showed good ball skills on both sides of the ball, but his true position is DB. His high performance translated into his season where he produced explosive plays on both sides of the ball. His skill set and size reminds me of a young Tyrann Mathieu, he’s explosive and continues to get better by the season.

Kevin O’Connor Kevin O’Connor 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Easton | 2023 State MD
Offers: Towson, UVA
Made 1st Team LB for the Combine. Interests from Purdue, Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina, & North Carolina. O’Conner is a unit by himself for Easton. He played quarterback and defensive end in the 2021 season, dominating on both sides of the ball. While evaluating O’Conner during the season I thought he’d make a better OLB because of his athleticism and he made the move from DE to OLB for the combine and still turned heads. I expect Kevin to have a very busy off-season on his camp tour, getting more offers along the way. If you didn’t know about him before, watch him explode in recruiting and dominate on the field in 2022.
Made 1st team LB for the #AllAmericanBowl combine. Competed with the best in the country and had fun @AABonNBC @SWiltfong247 https://t.co/AzW9SqLdhF

Davis is at least a three-star prospect on the rise. He has all of the physical attributes you look for in a D1 quarterback, he’s the prototype. 6’6, a talented arm, and can move better than the majority. Davis split reps at Baltimore Polytechnic this past season but has transferred to Prince George’s County powerhouse, Henry A. Wise Highschool. Under Coach Rapps coaching Davis will be put in the position to become one of the best in the state with the help of a more than impressive supporting cast in the Wise Pumas.

Shajuan Rice Shajuan Rice 6'3" | 175 lbs | DB Our Lady of Mt. Carmel | 2023 State MD
Rice was listed as an honorable mention for the All-Combine Team, 1 of 14 out of 200+ total. Rice had an absolute breakout season after transferring from New Town to Mt. Carmel. Some players need a couple games or a year to get accustomed to private school competition, but Rice hit the ground at full speed. Making big plays in all 3 phases of the game offense, defense, and special teams. Expect Rice to become a bigger prospect in Maryland over the next couple months as he displays his athleticism on the camp/combine circuit. Watching Rice and defending champs Mt. Carmel will be entertaining in 2022.

Jones was a very shifty and elusive weapon for the Perry Hall this past season. He found himself in headlines and highlights a lot. Jones is in the right hands during the off-season playing for former Baltimore Ravens receiver Torey Smith on Level82 7on7 team.
