It certainly is not easy to be a top-tier quarterback, but the signal-callers in the Class of 2025 showed that they can fit that billing for years to come. Today, we look at four freshman standouts who are ready to take huge strides next year. All four are names that we could be hearing about in the coming years.
Isaiah Rogers Isaiah Rogers 6'2" | 225 lbs | QB Ben Davis | 2025 State IN , 6’1, 195 pounds, Ben Davis
Isaiah Rogers Isaiah Rogers 6'2" | 225 lbs | QB Ben Davis | 2025 State IN has put himself in position to be a major player at Ben Davis in the years ahead. Rogers played significantly on the freshman team, however, he did see playing time on varsity as well. In his two varsity appearances, Rogers completed five of his eight passes for 60 yards. On the freshman squad, he was excellent all season. Rogers went 40/82 with the freshman team, and he amassed over 400 passing yards. Rogers threw six touchdown passes, while taking care of the football as he only threw one interception.
Wyatt Mullin Wyatt Mullin 5'11" | 180 lbs | QB South Putnam | 2025 State IN , 5’10, 165 pounds, South Putnam
The way that Wyatt Mullin Wyatt Mullin 5'11" | 180 lbs | QB South Putnam | 2025 State IN played this year should give South Putnam fans a lot to be excited about looking forward. Mullin gained great varsity experience in his first year of high school football, where he demonstrated that he has a ton of upside. Mullin is an accurate passer who places the ball right where it needs to be. He throws a good deep ball, leading the receiver toward the goal line. Mullin threw for 52/92 and 748 yards. He passed for nine touchdowns and threw just four picks.
Carsen Melvin Carsen Melvin 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Westfield | 2025 State IN , 6’3, 185 pounds, Plainfield
Out of any freshman player- regardless of position- it is difficult to find one that showed more in their debut season than Carsen Melvin Carsen Melvin 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Westfield | 2025 State IN did at Plainfield. Melvin accumulated over 1,600 passing yards while completing 122 of his 199 pass attempts. Already a big-time player, Melvin is great in the pocket. He keeps his composure, but when he does need to get out of the pocket, he can evade pass rushers and leave them frustrated. Melvin has a good delivery, and he is a very accurate passer. Melvin tossed 16 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. On top of that, he used his legs to come up with 104 yards and an additional three touchdowns.
Nevan Tutterow Nevan Tutterow 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Franklin Central | 2025 State IN , 6’1, 170 pounds, Franklin Central
Nevan Tutterow Nevan Tutterow 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Franklin Central | 2025 State IN displayed the ability to take charge off the offense in his first year at Franklin Central. Tutterow has a good arm, allowing him to drive the ball to different parts of the field. He displays great pocket-presence, standing in the pocket while going through his reads. On plays were he either has to scramble or there is a designed rollout, Tutterow still makes an on-time and accurate throw. Tutterow played in ten varsity contests this past year, where he threw seven touchdown passes. Tutterow racked-up over 1,200 passing yards on 107/184 through the air. He also gained a lot of experience punting the ball. Tutterow punted 15 times, netting 466 yards and pinning opponents inside their own 20-yard line on five occasions.
