The top four prospects in the rankings remained the same from our preseason rankings update of Missouri 2023 prospects: Lee’s Summit North offensive lineman Cayden Green Cayden Green 6'5" | 310 lbs | OL Lee's Summit North | 2023 State MO , Platte County defensive end Chandavian Bradley Chandavian Bradley 6'5" | 215 lbs | DL Platte County | 2023 State MO , De Smet tight end Mac Parkway and De Smet cornerback Christian Gray Christian Gray 6'1" | 175 lbs | DB De Smet | 2023 State MO .
All four are elite prospects for different reasons but have attracted recruiting interest from the top college programs from coast to coast. You could make a strong case for any of the four being the top prospect in Missouri’s loaded 2023 class, but we are going with the 6-foot-5, 310-pound Green, Lee’s Summit North’s standout left tackle.
Here is a quick look at some of the biggest stock risers in the newly updated rankings:
WR Joshua Manning Joshua Manning 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Lee's Summit | 2023 State MO Lee’s Summit
A 6-3, 190-pounder, Manning was the No. 90 overall prospect in our preseason rankings update. Following his breakout season, which included 69 catches for 900 yards and 12 total touchdowns in 10 games, the three-sport athlete who finished second in the Missouri Class 5 long jump (7.16 meters) as a sophomore jumps all the way to No. 12 overall.
Since the beginning of his junior season, Manning has received scholarship offers from Kansas State, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Wisconsin and Northwestern.
RB Jeremiyah Love Jeremiyah Love 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB CBC | 2023 State MO CBC
Love, a 6-1, 195-pounder, didn’t make a sizable leap like Manning but his move from 19 to 14 is worth noting.
Love was the Missouri Class 5 100-meter dash champion (10.76 seconds) as a sophomore after missing his sophomore football season with an injury. He entered his junior season as a Division I athlete who may have emerged at running back, wide receiver or safety and solidified himself as a running back prospect after leading state champion CBC in rushing (996 yards) and touchdowns (14) and averaging 10.5 yards per carry in 12 games.
Love received offers from Missouri and Eastern Illinois after impressive camp performances last offseason and has since added offers from Boston College, Vanderbilt, Kansas, Iowa State, Kentucky and Miami-Ohio.
WR Ricky Ahumaraeze Ricky Ahumaraeze 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Liberty (KC) | 2023 State MO Liberty
A 6-4, 195-pounder, Ahumaraeze made a similar jump to Manning, going from No. 52 up to 18th overall and establishing himself as a legitimate Division I prospect at wide receiver.
Ahumaraeze recorded 35 receptions for 556 yards and five touchdowns during his breakout season — he ranked second on his team in each category behind standout senior and North Dakota signee Caden Dennis Caden Dennis 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Liberty (KC) | 2022 State MO (39 catches for 705 yards and six touchdowns) — while also recording 74 tackles, five pass break-ups and team-best three interceptions from his free safety spot.
Ahumaraeze, who is also a track athlete, has received offers from Kansas State, Kansas and Iowa.
OL Josh Gregory Josh Gregory 6'7" | 260 lbs | OL CBC | 2023 State MO CBC
Gregory arrived at CBC as a 6-7 basketball prospect as a freshman and, after giving up basketball and switching to football, he will leave the Cadets as a Division I football signee.
The 6-7, 260-pounder joined the football team as a sophomore midway through the 2020 season and played a few snaps as a defensive linemen late in games near the end of the season. At the conclusion of that campaign he worked to turn himself into an offensive lineman, adding weight and strength to his long frame and working on the fundamentals of the position.
The transition was a successful one. Gregory started every game at right tackle during the Cadets’ 13-1 state championship season and the offensive line helped the offense rush for more than 3,000 yards and pass for more than 6,000 yards. He has received offers from Arkansas State and Miami-Ohio.
RB Jamal Roberts Jamal Roberts 6'1" | 200 lbs | RB St. Mary's | 2023 State MO St. Mary’s
We had heard the 6-0, 200-pound Roberts was a breakout candidate before the season and included him at No. 98 overall on the preseason rankings based on that praise, his success as a linebacker as a sophomore and his film. We are glad we did following Roberts’ breakout season and he’s now a legitimate Division I prospect and No. 23 in our updated rankings.
Roberts averaged 9.5 yards per carry as he rushed for a team-high 928 yards and 12 touchdowns in 13 games during St. Mary’s run to the state championship. He added seven receptions for another 171 yards and two touchdowns, giving him 1,099 total yards and 14 scores. He added 20 tackles from his linebacker spot.
Roberts has received early scholarship offers from Arizona State, Florida State and Arkansas State.
