QB Duke Butler | 6’0 175lbs | 2023 | Shadow Creek
Coming off throwing for 29TD and clinching a playoff birth, Duke Butler’s stock is continuing to soar. Winning the QB MVP off a head-turning performance at the Next Level Athlete showcase. Butler showed a great command of his passes in the 1 on 1 completion period. Butler has good technique and was very accurate all throughout the camp. Most of his balls were right on the money with good velocity behind them. Many of his passes were against tight coverage and he would put a catchable back shoulder ball or lead his receiver out to where only he could catch it. Butler’s arm is getting stronger and looks like he will continue to make noise this offseason.
OL Ray’Quan Bell | 6’5 295 | 2024 | Westfield
Bringing home OL MVP at this showcase was no easy task. With phenomenal size and power, Ray’Quan Bell has D1 talent as well. Bell coming off a first-team all-district selection came into the camp with confidence and grit. Bell displayed hit talent in pass protection with overall favorable technique. Going against various skill sets, Bell was able to handle all prototypes. His pass sets are tight and he doesn’t give up ground. Bell can move well for his size and already has an offer from UTSA after his sophomore season.
RB Jahbari Kuykendall | 5’8 175lbs | 2023 | Westside
One of the most electric players at the showcase was Jahbari Kuykendall. After a uber-productive junior season, Kuykendall isn’t slowing down at all. It was a joy watching his receiving ability that wasn’t used often at Westside. Kuykendall was consistently winning his matchups with a nice mix of speed, agility, and explosive cuts. Coming out the backfield you can see the burst that Kuykendall plays with. As a route runner, he was crafty and worked very well getting inside of the linebackers. With his top-tier speed, you also saw him just blow by backers who couldn’t handle his athleticism. Against some of the best competition, we got to see another side of Jahbari Kuykendall’s game that was well noticed as he received the RB MVP.
WR Conner Dunphy | 5’10 175lbs | 2024 | College Park
College Park has a crafty, sure-handed, and a sleeper prospect at wide receiver in Conner Dunphy. During the 1 on 1 period, Dunphy was cooking with hot grease. Nobody could find a way to stay close to the camps’ WR MVP as he was setting up DBs and creating separation for easy throws from the QBs. In his routes, you can tell that he possesses a great understanding of leverage, especially at the top of the route. Dunphy hauled in some insane catches down the field and easily had the best hands at the showcase. Dunphy spent time this past season as a WR/QB but with his 4.5 speed, consistent ability to get open, and elite hands, Dunphy could be one of the biggest stock rises in the Greater Houston area.
TE Chico Holt Chico Holt 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Strake Jesuit | 2023 State TX | 6’5 220 | 2023 | Strake Jesuit
Chico Holt Chico Holt 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Strake Jesuit | 2023 State TX is a real-deal Divison 1 Tight End. At 6’5, Holt is fast and a very good route runner. Holt would attack defenders and they had to respect his speed so would he often get them on their heels. From there he would make a sharp cut, have his hands out, and bring in the football. Holt is not only a physical specimen but also very technical in his routes. Every rep he had, all eyes were on him and he delivered. The TE MVP is currently holding offers from Rice and Kansas, but I see him racking up many more over the next calendar year.
