The NextGen camp series kicked off its 2022 tour this past weekend in Orlando, Fla. at Celebration High School. NextGen Camps evaluate more than 5,000 athletes each year. In its seven-year history athletes have received nearly 8,000 Division 1 scholarship offers. NextGen All-America Showcase camps have quickly become one of the nation's most respected Middle School and High School Underclassmen Showcase Camps.
Here is a look at the middle school quarterbacks that stood out to us.

Tall and rangy quarterback with a whippy arm. Developed foot work with ideal mechanics for his age. Was impressive completing passes on air, and has desired arm strength to complete post corner routes. Athletic enough to cause damage with his legs if he needs to. Competitive in nature and stepped up a plethora of times.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-268172 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/JaydenChico-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />[player_tooltip player_id="268399" first="Jayden" last="Chico"] | Florida | 2026</strong>
Quarterback that has a strong arm. Very impressive, as most throws hit his targets in stride. Can make side arm throws if needed and was verbal with his receivers. Competed well and seems to have been coached up well, evident by his ability to throw on time and with adequate footwork for his age. Missed twice all day. Low center of gravity with patience and urgency depending on route combos. Body has some maturing to do, but that will come. Diamond for sure.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-268175 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/LandenHolley-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />Landen Holley | Florida | 2027</strong>
Very tall quarterback for just being in 7th grade, with an obviously strong arm. Athletic and a natural athlete with great upside. Missed late a few times but was overall consistent. Long strider who builds up speed especially when showcasing his 40 yard dash. Great fundamentals. Can throw any route on the route tree.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-268176 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/Joel-Morris-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />Joel Morris | Florida | 2026</strong>
Impressive looking QB that's physically developed and passes the eye test right away. Athletic and fast. Has a strong arm and looked the part while competing all day. Excited and hopeful to watch more of him. Explosive when showcasing broad jump. Can make many throws with little disruption in Mechanics. Could develop into major recruit.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-268178 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/NelsonTambling-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />Nelson Tambling | Florida | 2026</strong>
Quarterback that has good arm strength and looked good throwing routes on air. Can zip it in there on a rope, if need be. Athletic enough for his age at this point, and can hit deep posts. Looked calm and comfortable all day. Competed well against bigger, stronger quarterbacks.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-268179 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/JaydisDowns-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />Jaydis Downs | Florida | 2026</strong>
Had some impressive throws and stood tall in the pocket. Didn't miss much in terms of accuracy and can deliver a strike when needed. Issues with wanting to hold power on short throws but will be corrected with the advanced coaching. Athletic and can move in space and showcased great base in drills.
<strong><img class="alignleft wp-image-268183 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/JaidanDelaune-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />Jaidan Delaune | Florida | 2027</strong>
Highly polished signal caller for his age. Can complete all short and intermedia routes with ease but struggle with deeper routes. That will come as he continues to mature and get stronger. Quick athlete who can make people miss in space. Competed and stepped up without hesitation. Not overly explosive yet but will come in a few years. Threw an amazing dig route with zip. Coachable athlete as well. Could be a special one in a few years.
<img class="alignleft wp-image-268185 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/White101QB-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />
<strong>Austan Cristiann | Florida | 2028</strong>
One of, if not the, youngest quarterback in attendance. Just a sixth grader, he did a nice job of competing with the older middle school athletes. Has been trained well and has pretty good mechanics at this point. Athletically there's room for improvement, but that will come with maturing. Good pop on his passes in the short to intermediate game. Deep balls floated a little bit. Will be good to watch him develop.
<img class="alignleft wp-image-268191 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/SabbyMeassick-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="212286" first="Sabby" last="Meassick"] | Florida | 2026</strong>
The top quarterback there in my opinion. Already holds an offer from the Florida Gators as an 8th grader. Meassick was moved up to spin it with the high school athletes and still came away with the MVP award. He does everything at a high level for a quarterback at this age. Good feet, shifts weight well when getting ready to throw the ball. First time seeing him live in a few years and he's everything people say he is. Going to be a good one over the next four years.
<img class="alignleft wp-image-268196 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/01/JackSpaeder-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="205736" first="Jack" last="Spaeder"] | Florida | 2026</strong>
Field general that throws a pretty deep ball for a quarterback at this level. Has significant room to grow from a strength standpoint, but can make all the throws you need him to as an eighth grader. Fairly good accuracy on passes towards the boundary. Foot work and body control could improve, but he stands tall in the pocket and keeps eyes downfield.
