The state of Arkansas had numerous prospects attending a number of camps over the weekend in Broken Arrow, San Antonio, and in Rogers. As always, the state of Arkansas was extremely well represented, and we will discuss several in this article that had impressive camps.
Slade Norwood-Quarterback-Farmington-2027
Norwood attend the Prep RedZone Oklahoma camp on Sunday. He put on a show in Broken Arrow and displayed good touch on his throws. Norwood also displayed good accuracy and he showed that he can throw with some zip on the ball. The arm strength is impressive, and he has excellent potential. What really stands out to me is just how accurate a deep ball Norwood has. Look out for this young man coming up through the ranks.
Mytorian Singleton Mytorian Singleton 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Bryant | 2024 State AR -Wide Receiver-Bryant-2024
It will come as no surprise to many that have watched Singleton over the past year to see that he performed well at the National Combine in San Antonio. Singleton displayed impressive speed and he uses it well to create separation from opposing defensive backs. The Bryant wide receiver has always had steady hands and they served him well in San Antonio over the weekend. Singleton has serious momentum going into the camp and seven on seven season.
Jadyn Johnson Jadyn Johnson 6'1" | 195 lbs | WR Greenwood | 2025 State AR -Wide Receiver-Van Buren-2025
The Van Buren Pointers are one team that’s improvement has been obvious on the field over the past few years. Jadyn Johnson Jadyn Johnson 6'1" | 195 lbs | WR Greenwood | 2025 State AR is another talented wide receiver that scouts should watch out for next season. He was solid at the Impact All-America Winter Showcase in Northwest Arkansas over the weekend. Johnson hauled in four receptions for 68 yards and rushed for 52 yards in action he saw over the weekend. Johnson has hands that won’t drop passes. He has speed to create separation and does a great job of making more than one defensive player bring him down. Johnson is going to be a fun player to watch over the next couple of seasons.
Weston Pierce Weston Pierce 6'3" | 180 lbs | QB Maumelle | 2023 State AR -Quarterback-Maumelle-2023
The Maumelle signal caller went to San Antonio and displayed what the people in the state of Arkansas already know. Pierce does a great job of throwing into small windows and being able to burn the pass into a wide receiver. He throws a good deep football, and he can hit the receiver in stride. With another season to impress scouts, he has a chance to be a sought-after prospect by the scouts. Look for a big season in 2022 from Pierce.
Hunter Marshall Hunter Marshall 5'8" | 245 lbs | OL Farmington | 2024 State AR -Offensive Line-Farmington-2024
The Farmington center is a workhorse. The young man has yet to have a bad snap and he uses his speed well to get out of the stance into an opposing defensive lineman. Marshall is an offensive lineman that has a good mix of speed and power. He is surprisingly strong, and he will not be underestimated. Marshall is only going to continue to improve, and I fully expect him to be playing on Saturdays in the future.
Colin Jones Colin Jones 6'3" | 255 lbs | OL Rogers | 2024 State AR -Defensive Line-Rogers-2024
The Rogers defensive line has become one of the most consistent units on the team over the past few years. Jones has impressive quickness, and he is powerful enough to cause opposing offensive lines problems. Jones put his power and speed on display in Broken Arrow at the Prep RedZone camp. Jones finished the 2021 season with momentum, and he should have a great camp season over the next few months. Jones has the ability to play on Saturdays in the future.
Anton Pierce Anton Pierce 6'3" | 205 lbs | DB Little Rock Mills | 2023 State AR -Defensive Back-Little Rock Mills-2023
The versatility that Anton Pierce Anton Pierce 6'3" | 205 lbs | DB Little Rock Mills | 2023 State AR has is extremely impressive. He can play on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver or in the defensive secondary. At 6’3”, he can play safety spot in the secondary. Pierce had another impressive showing in San Antonio over the weekend and he continues to make scout’s eyes take notice. Pierce has the talent to play on Saturdays in the future and at a number of positions. Keep an eye on Pierce, he has the potential to be special.
