The numbers today were smaller than years past but the talent was just as good and the big fellas that came output on a show and competed hard all afternoon.
Sam Liu – Parish Episcopal – Class of 2024
Starting us off is the OL MVP Sam Liu. Sam displayed heavy hands, good posture, and above average patience in his sets. He played almost all five positions during the day and showed the ability to redirect and anchor on the bull rush. He reported a recent offer from Marshall University and I expect more schools to come knocking after a great performance today.
Jacob Pequeno – Parish Episcopal – Class of 2024
Jacob is a well known name to the fans of private school ball in the state, and today he lived up to the hype. Jacob displayed great anchor and vice after striking, while playing both tackle, guard, and center. He was solid in every circumstance and showcased his coveted versatility. What sticks out to me about his game is that he always finds himself in the right spots in a position of good posture. I expect a huge summer out of him and offers to start rolling in.
Will Marshall – Flower mound High school- Class of 2023
From the combine drills, to Indy, to one on one’s, Will had a massive day. The long tackle prospect did a great job of staying inside out and owning his angle of departure from the line of scrimmage. He was one of the only names that I hadn’t seen or scouted prior and his game was a pleasant surprise that left a lasting impression. He needs to add some bulk to his frame and he needs to get his upper back bigger but he possesses all of the tools of a prototypical division one offensive tackle. I loved his patience in his set and the violence in his hands when striking.
Benjamin Whitfield – Duncanville High school- Class of 2023
One of the more polished tackle prospects in attendance, he did an outstanding job all afternoon. He’s a long, lean tackle prospect with great feet and active hands. He did a good job on not letting defenders into his frame and showed the ability to anchor. Big things are on the horizon for Benjamin and I expect him to be a major contributor for the Panthers next fall. His coaches have had rave reviews on his development and it was on full display today, power 5 schools will be banging his door down soon.
Scotty Parker -Lewisville high school- Class of 2023
Scotty had a big day and displayed a great baseline of technique and fundamentals. His offensive line coach at Lewisville is WNFC All-Pro offensive linewoman Tammie Moore, and you can tell that they have put in some serious work to polish his technique. He took great reps at all five positions on the link and showed flashes of dominance. I look for him to double down on a great performance today and have a huge summer. He’s a big body that possesses some snappiness out of his stance and is the prototypical division one interior body.
