This is the best collection of quarterbacks we have had in one class in quite some time and there is depth involved too. Multiple guys listed below will be playing Power Five, Division 1 or FCS football in the very near future.
1. Chris Parson Chris Parson 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Ravenwood | 2023 State TN (6’0 195) – Ravenwood
– Parson is the most athletic and explosive quarterback in-state and even possibly his entire 2023 class. This guy can be electric with the ball in his hands, pushing it down field or tucking and running with it. If Parson gets into the open field via his legs, he is almost unstoppable because of his elusiveness and speed. They key factor that may push Parson into the #1 QB spot in-state when the next rankings come out is his arm strength and progression with his accuracy this past season. His passing abilities were enhanced this junior year which in turn might have built his stock even further. This is a big time talent who still has room to grow and that’s scary! Parson is already committed to Florida St. and appears set on being in Tallahassee for his college days.

2. Kenny Minchey Kenny Minchey 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Pope Prep | 2023 State TN (6’2 205) – Pope Prep
– If you’re looking for a pure passer with potential for the next level, Minchey is your guy. This junior signal caller has the size, mechanics and poise in the pocket that many collegiate quarterback coaches are looking for. Minchey throws a smooth ball with arm power behind it to put the pass wherever he wants to. He can deliver the long ball or work the immediate passes. Minchey honestly has all the tools to develop into a big time thrower on the next level with continued development. He is viewed already as a top recruit in this class as he sports offers from Marshall, Michigan St, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Va Tech, Wisconsin and others. Look for Minchey to continue to pick up steam on the recruiting trail this offseason as more scouts and coaches gain a look at him.

3. Marcel Reed Marcel Reed 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB MBA | 2023 State TN (6’2 180) – MBA
– This guy has had college buzz surrounding him going on three years now and finally Reed has made it to his senior year. Athletic with a cannon right arm, Reed sports a lot of traits and tools that appeal to college coaches but he still has room to grow and develop. Reed did not put up the numbers through the air this past as some may thought he would but he still led his team to the D2-Class AAA championship game and got better as the season went on. Reed must continue to get bigger and develop his passing game further but tremendous upside is there. Just ask the schools that have offered him like Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Miami, Tennessee and others. Very interested to see how he develops over this offseason and his senior year.

4. Brock Glenn Brock Glenn 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Lausanne | 2023 State TN (6’2 190) – Lausanne
– Much like Reed above, Glenn was not asked to spin the pigskin as much this season as was expected but that’s because his Lynx team was loaded with talent, including one of the state’s best running backs. Glenn however is one of the best pure passers in this state and possibly the entire 2023 quarterback class. He just recently added a new P5 offer from Duke to go along with previous offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Memphis, USF and Vanderbilt. What stands out the most when watching Glenn is his accuracy and ability to place the football wherever he wants to. He has great mechanics along with strong poise in the pocket. Glenn has the makeup and passing abilities to become elite on the college level but only if he continues to work on his craft and prepare for competition on the next level.

5. Colbey Lamberth Colbey Lamberth 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB Dickson Co. | 2023 State TN (6’3 200) – Dickson Co.
– The Cougars at Dickson Co. have themselves a strong armed passer with college upside they can build around this offseason and hopefully find themselves in playoff contention. Lamberth is a talented guy that can make all the throws but he doesn’t have the skill or talent around him to put up huge numbers but maybe that changes during his senior year. Lamberth is a fearless competitor and passer that will take chances, trying to put the ball into small windows. He is able to do that because of his arm strength and tall pocket presence. Thus far, Lamberth has a few D1 offers, including a P5 one from Kentucky and one recently from Marshall but he is hoping to add to that list with a big offseason that could help him rise up recruiting charts and be considered among the best QB’s in this state.

6. JD Sherrod JD Sherrod 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Briarcrest Chrst. | 2023 State TN (6’1 190) – Briarcrest Christian
– The five QB’s listed above have already been established with offers but Sherrod could be that next guy that breaks out on the college recruiting radar as this Memphis area signal caller has some serious talent. What Sherrod brings to the table is great pocket awareness, an accurate right arm and a certain toughness that is needed at quarterback to win football games. He sports nice size and has the ability to make off platform throws. Sherrod is also a good runner too, so he can beat a defense in a variety of ways with his arm and legs. The Saints gunslinger has been on the radar for college coaches since last summer and has only been building strong stock for himself ever since, so those offers could be close to arriving.

7. Jordyn Potts Jordyn Potts 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Powell | 2023 State TN (6’0 185) – Powell
– The top returning passer in the state based off yards and touchdowns, Potts had a big junior year that put him squarely on the college recruiting radar and he certainly helped his cause even further when he helped lead his Panthers team to the 2021 Class 5A state title. Potts just has a great feel for throwing the football and understands defense’s very well. He is good at reading the defense and placing the ball on time and where his receivers can make plays. His arm strength is good enough to compete on the next level but it’s his accuracy and timely passing that can take him a long way. Potts has to continue getting bigger with his weight but don’t let his 6’0 stature worry you as he has what it takes to play on the D1 gridiron. Look for him to breakout with offers over the coming months, especially as more coaches view him in person.

8. Braylen Ragland Braylen Ragland 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Bartlett | 2023 State TN (6’2 190) – White Station
– Ragland is a guy with big upside and potential for the college game but has yet to reach his maximum capabilities, however he is getting there! This West Tennessee product has good arm talent and the athleticism that fits inside the college game along with the size to withstand the physicality. Ragland went through some ups and downs throughout his junior season but got much better during the back half of the year, showing why college coaches are interested in his abilities. Holding offers from the likes of Buffalo, Jackson St., Memphis, Tulane and others, Ragland is poised for a big offseason ahead that could help him bust through the roof and bring in more and bigger offers. This is a talented passer that definitely has his best football days ahead of him.

9. Jack Risner Jack Risner 6'5" | 220 lbs | QB Blackman | 2023 State TN (6’4 205) – Blackman
– Tall with a strong right arm, Risner is an opposing presence behind center that can make all the throws, including ones you see on the professional level. This is a big guy behind center that mainly lines up in shotgun but don’t let that make you think he can’t move because he can. Risner is a deceptive athlete that knows how to get away from pressure and make the pass. This Murfreesboro area quarterback is one of the best deep ball throwers in this state and has an offense behind him at Blackman that will allow him to sling it all over the field next year. Risner has no fear when releasing the ball because he puts full trust into his receivers. His offseason ride will be key for him as he looks to generate more interest and eventually college offers.

10. Charles Robinson Charles Robinson 6'1" | 165 lbs | QB Webb | 2023 TN (6’1 185) – Knox. Webb
– This East Tennessee product could be the steal of the quarterback class! Robinson is an impressive talent that put up strong numbers as a junior then showed up to the #PRZTN camp and was the best signal caller in attendance. Robinson has a cannon right arm that puts the ball on time with zip and confidence. He has a nice feel for when to release the ball and where to place it for his receivers. The Spartans top college talent is also quite the athlete as he ran a 4.5 forty at the showcase and was one of the better agile and mobile prospects of the entire camp. Robinson has the same kind of game and likewise talents as the guy listed above in the #1 spot, who is committed to FSU. Robinson is one of the top guys on this list that I could see breakout into D1 status before we reach the summer camp season.
