Here we have part 2 of the outstanding junior quarterbacks in the Houston area who had phenomenal seasons and will be asked to be even better for their senior seasons.
Ja’Koby Banks – Fort Bend Marshall
Banks was a star in the backfield and a true athlete who did damage both on the ground as well as in the air. He proved to be a playmaker with a powerful arm and gave defenses fits. For his junior season, Banks threw for 1,358 yards with 20 touchdowns, and torched opponents on the ground with 1,093 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. Banks helped lead his team to a 10-1 record and better believe he will be back next season looking for more.
Blake Baker – Cy Ranch
Baker was in command of the offense and looked comfortable in that role. He has good size, standing tall in the pocket, and has a strong arm to throw his playmaking receivers open. Baker showed that he could make the correct reads in both the run and pass, and help his teammate get in position to put points on the board. His growth this offseason will be important and he will without a doubt be a top name heading into next season.
Caleb Koger Caleb Koger 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Katy | 2023 State TX – Katy
Koger does not get many opportunities to let the ball loose in the run heavy offense, but when he gets the green light, he takes advantage of it! Koger has shown that he has what it takes to win, and can manage a game comfortably. For the season Koger threw for 1,863 yards and 21 touchdowns, and helped the team reach a 14-1 record. He will be back again next season for his 3rd year starting, and much more confident leader!
Reed Odell – Tomball Memorial
Odell is a tall lefty who lets it fly! He proved to be accurate under distress and has the athletic ability to make a defense respect his legs. For his junior season, Odell threw for 1,513 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Kenneth Rosenthal – Lamar
The Texans went 7-3 behind Rosenthal’s play at quarterback. The numbers may not pop out but he did his job, which led to wins. He looked comfortable in and outside of the pocket and delivered strikes to get his receivers open. Rosenthal showed to be a very good runner as well when his number was called. He finished his junior campaign with 1,275 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, and added 404 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns to his totals as well.
