Laurio shows a good change of direction and does a great job of working back to the football. He is great at getting open on slant routes and can secure catches with his hands in traffic. Laurio has high football intelligence and is great at faking out defensive backs. Laurio has the speed to win consistently on deep balls. Saline has had star receivers every season in recent years, Laurio’s return is a critical part of Saline’s offense heading into 2022.
Jamil Thomas Jamil Thomas 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Huron | 2023 State MI | Ann Arbor Huron | 2023 | Hudl
Thomas has tremendous speed and has shown the ability to break long runs. He shows good strength to get off of press-man coverage and is nearly impossible to stay stride to stride with on-go routes. Thomas has good body control and adjusts well to passes that are thrown high or behind him. Huron liked to run screens to Thomas this year as well and he did a great job of letting his blocks get set up so he could pick up good yardage each time. Ann Arbor Huron has a chance to have another great season in 2022 and Thomas should play a big part in their success.
David Cook | Ypsilanti Lincoln | 2023 | Hudl
Cook is hard to bring down and gets great yards after catch due to his lower body strength and balance. When it comes to blocking, Cook loves to fire off the ball and drive a defender back. I like how Cook uses his footwork right when he gets off the line of scrimmage to get open. He is a smooth route runner overall and runs in-breaking very well. David Cook is fearless when it comes to catching the ball in traffic and has and it’s my ball mentality when it’s thrown to him.
Garrett Baldwin | Saline | 2023 | Hudl
Baldwin was part of a very talented wide receiver group Saline featured this season. On the season, Baldwin totaled 23 catches, 512 yards, and 2 touchdowns. He also had an outstanding 22.3 yards per catch. Saline likes to play Baldwin primarily in the slot. He has an effective single move that he uses to get separation on go-routes. Baldwin has good strength and has shown the ability to break multiple tackles after the catch. Garrett Baldwin is a tremendous athlete who also plays basketball and track. Saline coaches will be excited to work with Baldwin for another season.
Davis Hugan | Ann Arbor Huron | 2023 | Hudl
Hugan has great short area quickness that he uses to pickup yardage in a hurry. He has great ability to make quick cuts and can make defenders miss with ease. Like Saline, Hugan was part of a very talented wide receiver core Ann Arbor Huron had this past season. Hugan did a tremdous job of working back to the football and making a catch. He is great at running curl routes due to his quickenss and body control. Hugan shows great effort blocking and does a great job of staying in front of the man he is blocking.
