Continue ReadingFootball University (FBU) kicked off its 2022 camp season this past weekend with a pair of one-day camps in Austin and San Antonio, respectively. It was a big weekend for the one of the longest tenured camps in the country, as the Austin camp was a complete sell out and San Antonio only a had few positions left. Per FBU’s Twitter account, their social media accounts received over 2 million views over the course of the weekend.
There were a number of standouts at all positions over the weekend, but here’s a look at the Quarterbacks that earned praise from FBU, with a deeper analysis.
Rees Wise Rees Wise 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Austin Westlake | 2026 State TX | Quarterback | Texas | 2026
Wise is an obvious no-brainer selection here. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound righty has been a standout the last few years and always performed well. This past December he was the QB for Team Austin’s 8th grade squad in the FBU National Championship tournament. It was a busy weekend for Wise, as he was named to the All-Camp Team and earned an invitation to FBU Top Gun on Saturday. He then followed it up on Sunday, by attending the Texas QB/Shipley Performance minicamp.
Cameron Sarinana | Quarterback | Texas | 2026
While Rise made it rain at the Austin camp on Saturday, Sarinana was every bit his equal at the San Antonio camp on Sunday. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound signal caller concluded a great season for Shary North Junior High and has rolled seamlessly right into camp season. Performed well at the FBU Futures Combine in December and has also done Elite11 work and now FBU San Antonio. Quick, powerful compact release. Earned an invitation to FBU Top Gun.
Cayden Glass Cayden Glass 5'9" | 165 lbs | QB Brennan | 2026 State TX | Quarterback | Texas | 2026
Back in January we highlighted Glass and our weekly Trail Mix article, and Glass has continued to shatter (pun intended) the field with his play. Where Sarinana and Wise are both pocket passers with the ability to run, Glass is a no-doubt dual-threat guy. He’s not as tall as the previous two either, but he can really throw some darts when he has time. He will be at Brennan High School for the next four years.
Woodren Pettis | Quarterback | Texas | 2027
Just a seventh grader, Pettis earned a nod to the All-Camp team in Austin and picked up an invitation to FBU Top Gun. Also made the trip to San Antonio for the camp on Sunday as well. Undersized right now, but has a good mechanics and can throw the ball accurately. Has been hitting the camp trail hard this off-season, already attending a QB Universe camp in February.
Justyce Hendricks | Quarterback | Texas | 2028
A very promising quarterback in just the sixth grade, Hendricks was named to the Austin All Camp-Team. He served as a quarterback on Team Austin’s 6th grade squad in the FBU National Championship tournament. Very long arms allows him to get a lot of whip on his passes. Like Pettis above him, has also attended a QB Universe camp already this off-season.
Jaxon Schad | Quarterback | Texas | 2028
Another young gun in just the sixth grade, Schad was named to the Austin All-Camp team. Posted some of his highlights from the camp on social media and displayed some great fundamentals, namely dropping back and keep tall in the pocket. Recently represented Austin in the Texas Youth Football All Star Showcase.
Caleb Abraham | Quarterback | Texas | 2028
The youth movement wasn’t confined to just the Austin FBU camp, as Abraham shined and was selected to the All-Camp Team in San Antonio on Sunday. A tireless worker with very advanced feet, the Robert Cole Middle School Cougar earned an invitation to Top Gun this July. Has also camped at QB Universe and earned honors there.
Chance Hocker | Quarterback | Texas | 2028
He’s only in the fifth grade, so it’s early even by PRZ Next standards, but Hocker more than held his own in San Antonio. Hocker made the All-Camp Team and earned an invitation to Top Gun. Trains at an advanced level and it showed during his regular season, accounting for 20 touchdowns and 1,072 passing yards.
