While there were a number of standouts at all positions over the weekend, here’s a look at the the middle school standouts (Part 1) that earned praise from FBU, with a deeper analysis.
Jevalen Wade Jevalen Wade 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Bryan | 2026 State TX | Running Back | Texas | 2026
Wade was unquestionably the start of the camp on the middle school side. A few months after being selected to the Prep RedZone Next All-Tournament Team for the FBU National Championship, he did it again. The elite athlete impressed so much, that he earned an invitation to the National Combine in San Antonio, Texas in January. The overall middle school MVP will be at Bryan High School.
Moses Hardy | Offensive Line | Texas | 2026
If you’re going to be 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds in the eighth grade, you better be able to blow some people off the ball and stop pass rushers–and that’s what Hardy does. He’s one of the bigger prospects we’ve covered this year and he’s just continuing to get better. Played for Austin in the FBU National Championship tournament.
Moses Martinez | Offensive Line | Texas | 2026
It was another FBU weekend for Martinez, who attended the Austin camp the weekend prior, and it was another standout performance. As previously mentioned, not the biggest 2026 lineman out there, but a tough kid who knows how to fit well and use leverage to win those tough one-on-one battles in the trenches.
Manuel Bustamante | Offensive Line | Texas | 2026
A very fundamentally sound offensive tackle. Bustamante was selected for Team Houston in the FBU National Championship tournament this past year. He sits comfortable in his stance and plays a patient style of lineman, meaning he allows the defensive lineman to make a move before adjusting mid-play to either drive or down block rushers.
Camren Renfro | Quarterback | Texas | 2026
A tireless worker and member of the Prep RedZone Next 2026 Watch List, Renfro earned a selection to the All-Camp team. He’s a very athletic signal caller who can make a lot of throws, both in the pocket and out. Starting to really look the part of potential big-time player at 5-foot-10 and 153 pounds. Keep an eye and ear out for Renfro, as he’s just starting to scratch the surface of his potential.
Rod Smith Jr. | Defensive Back | Texas | 2026
At 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds, Smith Jr. was impressive in Houston and earned an All-Camp nod and invitation to Top Gun. He’s a very quick kid who also runs track. Has been working incredibly hard this off-season, playing 7v7 with Texas Stars 14U hitting. In addition, he’s been hitting the camp trail thus far this spring, also shining at a VTO Combine back in February.
