Continue ReadingThis last Sunday, I visited Jeffersonville High School to look at some football talent from the local region. The camp, hosted by FBU, featured high school players from 2023-to 2026! Although I already knew that the Louisville/Southern Indiana region held lots of underrated talent, it was visibly clear that when attending this camp there were plenty of kids who balled out yet have received little to no spotlight from college coaches. Today, I am going to present some notable players I was impressed by and list their current collegiate offers.
Kenyon Goodin Kenyon Goodin 6'3" | 185 lbs | ATH Martha Layne Collins | 2023 State KY DB | 6-3,190lbs. Class of 2023 | Collins High School, Shelbyville KY | Tape:
Current Offers:
-Eastern Kentucky University (D1)
Kenyon Goodin Kenyon Goodin 6'3" | 185 lbs | ATH Martha Layne Collins | 2023 State KY picked up most of the spotlight at the camp, earning camp MVP and getting invited to other national camps. The junior is an absolute ballhawk which helps him easily pick off reads by the QB. At the camp, he was locking down opposing receivers in 1v1 drills, and making multiple defensive plays on 7v7 simulations. This kid is special and I expect him to get more interest from other schools soon because of his excellent performance at the camp.
Maurice Stephens WR | 6-1, 150*lbs. Class of 2025 | Ballard High School, Louisville KY
*No current Offers
Maurice is a hidden gem of a wide receiver who balled out at the Louisville camp. The freshman had solid hands and catching mechanics that are comparable to a 4-year varsity starting receiver. He Made very difficult catches in the air with little room to spare and consistently blew by DBs in 1v1s. Considering that he is only a freshman, it is crazy to think how much potential this kid has if he continues to put the work in. Keep an eye out for this Ballard receiver in the upcoming fall football season.
William Goodvine III DE | 6-2, 230lbs. Class of 2024 | Westfield High School, Westfield IN | Tape:
*No current Offers
William Goodvine is one of a couple of players coming from the Indiana region and showed out at the edge position. Some key takeaways from this young stud:
- Easily blows past opposing guards to put pressure on the QB
- Fantastic hand dexterity to gain leverage
- Unbelievable strength that was applied in camp by blowing past multiple guards on him
- Quick off his first step off the line of scrimmage
Overall, William is a special Edge tackle that makes the game of football look natural to him. William is of the many talented players that after attending this camp, will receive more interest from colleges.
Isaiah Hare Isaiah Hare 6'2" | 275 lbs | DL Bullitt East | 2024 State KY DE | 6-2, 240bs. Class of 2024 | Bullitt East High School, Mount Washington KY | Tape:
* No current offers
Isaiah was another defensive end that showed up big time at this year’s camp. Like Goodvine, Hare was also abnormally quick off his initial step and had amazing hand dexterity. With those two traits, it enables Hare to beat down his opponent every time and put pressure on the QB or even make a sack. With 2 years of high school football left, expect Hare to continue developing his game and begin to see more collegiate interest.
Arjun Lothe QB | 6-4, 175lbs. Class of 2023 | Indian Creek High School, Trafalgar IN | Highlight Clip:
*No Current Offers
Arjun Lothe was the best-looking QB out of the high school group. Lothe is a lefty-thrower with a strong arm that is consistently accurate throughout the drills he participated in. What was notable to me was his solid footwork when throwing, which enabled him to throw for further yards when in the pocket. His footwork was equally as solid when throwing on the run. According to multiple sources, Lothe’s work ethic is top-notch and his development over the last few years has been spectacular. If he continues to work on his craft, I can easily see Lothe getting some offers to play QB in college soon.
Some Honorable Mentions at the Camp:
Matthew Hinz WR
Anthony Feltrinelli LB
William Elliot Jr RB
Cameron Wooten DB
