Jeremiah “JJ” Smith- DB, Westlake
Smith was a productive freshman starter at CB posting 3 INTs and 5 PBUs. He plays fast and under control possessing high-level speed and body control. He’s aggressive breaking up passes and attacks the ball at its highest point. He contains the edge well on outside runs and is a physical tackler at the POA. He is undersized at 5’7”/140 but only being a freshman has plenty of time to grow and develop. Smith took several visits to D-I schools in April and should continue to attract more interest with a strong sophomore season.

Eugene Rice- DL, Lincoln
Rice earned playing time as a freshman on one of the most talented teams in San Diego. He’s a strong, powerful interior DL that proved to be disruptive upfront plugging gaps in the run game and flashes raw pass-rush potential. He’s violent with his hands and extremely physical at the POA. Rice has major potential to be a breakout DL prospect in the fall and should be in line for some D-I interest as his playing time increases.

Trajan Weaver- QB, Oceanside
Weaver was sidelined the majority of his freshman season with a broken collarbone but has flashed raw arm talent and ability in his offseason work. He’s a natural passer with fluid mechanics and a smooth release. He throws off a solid base and his ball comes out with noticeable zip/velocity on it. Weaver should compete for the starting job on varsity next season and could put himself on the radar heading into next season.

Zavier Leatherman- RB/LB, Army-Navy Academy
Leatherman was one of the leading tacklers for the Army-Navy Academy defense in his freshman season. He’s a downhill thumper at ILB with a physical frame listed at 5’10”/195. He shows ability to get off blocks in the run game and is an instinctive player covering middle zone. He’s a physical tackler in the front seven that can track ball-carriers outside the tackles and break down in space. Leatherman figures to be one of the leading tacklers for his defense heading into next season.
