Prep Redzone Oklahoma is all about team camps over the next ten days! We got our camp tour started on Wednesday evening in Choctaw (check out our camp report RIGHT HERE) and we continued at Claremore with Tahlequah, Collinsville, Edison, Lincoln Christian, Miami, Muskogee, Oologah, Rogers, and the Zebras. We attended both days of camp and will have plenty of prospects to talk about. Next week we will attend Rejoice Christian Team Camp on May 31st and June 1st, 9 am-12 pm.
Karson Jinks – 2023 QB – Miami
Jinks was exciting to watch Thursday evening either running the ball as a ball carrier or making throws to his receivers. Jinks moves well in and out of the pocket and keeps plays alive looking downfield. If Jinks leaves the pocket, he is a threat to run the football and is not afraid of contact. The Wardogs have several plays where Jinks is the designed runner and he likes to run the ball. It makes sense that he likes the contact because Jinks shined on the defensive side of the ball and has become a great two-way player for the Wardogs.
Gage Deckard – 2024 WR – Claremore
Deckard had a good evening on day 1 of team camp. He was on the other side of the passes from Braxton Etheridge Braxton Etheridge 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Claremore | 2024 State OK , QB for the Zebras. Deckard showed good balance and came back to the ball to make a catch. He was able to make some good plays out at wide receiver and found the openings to get the ball consistently. Deckard uses his hands to catch the ball and didn’t allow the ball to get to his body. He will go up and high point the ball and looked good running his routes.
Colton Christian – 2024 OL – Collinsville
The 2021 5A State Champions, Collinsville Cardinals, came out to Claremore for team camp this season. The Cardinals had a great rushing attack last season with a couple of senior-led running backs. With both of them graduating, I wanted to watch the guys up front and Colton Christian stood out to me. He plays tackle and has good pass pro technique. He finished a lot of blocks in his pass pro to give time to his quarterback to make the throw down the field. He does well at getting up to the second level and getting hands-on first level. Colton looks to help anchor the guys up front to defend their crown.
Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK – 2025 QB – Muskogee
Thursday evening, Ficklin played quarterback for the Roughers at camp. He moves so well in the pocket and puts stress on other defenses. His movement looks good as he steps up in the pocket to make a throw downfield with ease. As the pocket collapses, he becomes dangerous on taking off on the run. Ficklin threw from multiple levels to get the ball to his playmakers. Ficklin was consistent at all levels and has good touch on the deep ball. He looked confident being in the pocket and was able to keep plays going by keeping his eyes downfield.
Easton Rogers Easton Rogers 6'3" | 210 lbs | ATH Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK – 2023 RB/LB – Lincoln Christian
This was my first time to be able to watch Rogers live and he didn’t disappoint. He played tough defense all day but where I was most impressed with him was at running back. Lincoln utilizes Rogers in different ways to get him the ball either downhill, misdirection, or even on screens. He runs the ball hard with good vision and he loves being physical as a back. As a linebacker, he is all over the field chasing down the ball or punishing the ball carrier. He looks good with his run fits between the tackles and he makes it look easy on any perimeter play. Rogers had a great
Luke Milligan Luke Milligan 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Lincoln Christian | 2024 State OK – 2024 QB – Lincoln Christian
When Max Brown Max Brown 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Lincoln Christian | 2022 State OK graduated this past year you wondered who would step in at quarterback to play for the Bulldogs. Well, we were able to see Milligan step right into that role and look confident. Milligan went through progressions in the passing game and made good throws all day. Schematically, Lincoln has a lot of moving parts pre-snap to confuse the defense or get them out of position. As a quarterback, this helps you know what coverage they are in or helps find a quick pre-snap read. It didn’t matter what throw Milligan was making, he was consistent with short, intermediate, and deep balls. Overall, Milligan looked good at team camp and he looks to continue the tradition of quarterback play at Lincoln.
Brandon Tolbert – 2023 RB/LB – Muskogee
Tolbert was an exciting player to watch on day 1 Thursday evening. Muskogee likes to spread the ball all over the field and Tolbert looks to help bolster the run game with his speed, balance, and vision. He can start in one direction and cut back to the opposite side of the field with one quick cut. Tolbert made several plays with the ball in his hands and I liked his balance as defenders tried to wrap him up. When he played linebacker, he got downhill quickly and made several plays in the backfield. Tolbert looked good getting to the ball carrier or chasing down screens. He likes to play physically on the defensive side of the ball and had a good day 1 camp.
Garrett Walls – WR 2024 – Miami
Another Miami Wardog prospect that stood out to me was a wide receiver, Garrett Walls. Walls is a possession receiver that found green grass and made plays. He wouldn’t wait for the ball to get to him, instead, he would attack the ball and use his hands. Walls uses his body to shield off defenders to help position himself to win the ball. He has good footwork which helps in his route running along with his hips. Several times Thursday night, Walls would make a catch and come back the very next play and do the same.
Cash Bryant – 2025 Athlete – Edison
Bryant belongs in the talk of these 2025 prospects we have been talking about these last few months. The Eagles have another talented running back in their backfield to watch this upcoming season. Bryant was all over the field Thursday afternoon catching the ball out of the backfield and getting him in open space. He runs well between the tackles and has good vision to help with any cutbacks. Bryant plays safety on defense and intercepted the ball 2 times throughout the day. He played the run aggressively and rallied to the flats on any pass plays thrown short. Bryant will be a name to remember in the 2025 class.
Brody Younger Brody Younger 6'4" | QB Tahlequah | 2024 OK – 2024 QB – Tahlequah
We were able to take a look at Younger with Sooner 7 earlier last spring. He was one of the better quarterbacks at Claremore on the day with great touch and accuracy. Younger threw the ball all over the field and was consistent. He was accurate and had a nice touch on his deep ball. There wasn’t just one wide receiver he always looked to throw to, he had multiple guys he counted on. It seemed like the receivers trusted where the ball was going to be thrown to. On the other side, Younger trusted the receivers to be in the right spot and their timing looked good. Younger can spin the ball and get it out to his playmakers quickly. It will be interesting to watch Younger as the season progresses.
