There are many nuisances to each position on the line and each responsibility is different that comes into a harmonious blend. Where each defensive line has a unique job that helps the defense function properly. In this article, we aim to fit these specific defensive linemen in roles that we believe will put them in the best position for them to be successful now and on the collegiate level.
Pharrell Adams Pharrell Adams 6'3" | 275 lbs | DL Synder | 2023 State NJ ,Snyder 2024
Position Fit: 3Tech
This was a tougher evaluation because he is a highly productive player in two different positions. At 6’3 255lbs with a quick first step and widely athletic. He has a defensive end body but may not have the requisite arm length to be effective long-term at the position. While this could definitely change in a span of three years, as he’s currently constructed, he would serve his team in a position where he could rush center and guards rather than true tackles.
He has plus athleticism for the position and currently wins most of his reps with pure athleticism. He may be the most athletic interior defensive lineman in this class, also playing some snaps at running back. One thing that we notice about his game is that the technicality isn’t there, so we pegged his best position at 3 tech. With his immense untapped potential, we believe he can be above-average at the position even in college. Once he adds more technicality and moves to his game he could be a solid college defensive lineman.

Logan Barnes Logan Barnes 6'1" | 265 lbs | DL St. Peter's Prep | 2023 State NJ , Saint Peter’s Prep, 2023
Position Fit: 0-1 Tech
At 6’1 275 lbs, he has the perfect leverage profile to be an anchor in the run game. Plays with excellent pad level and can withstand double teams. We understand that withstanding a college double team from college offensive lineman will be drastically different than high school offensive lineman. If you take a look at his size profile and the way he maintains his leverage through these situations there is more than enough evidence to suggest that he can play this same way at the college level.
We believe he has underrated athletism for the position. He has an explosive first step and is very underrated as a pass rusher which is the way he’s going to separate himself. Often times players that play over the center or exclusively in the A gap can only be seen as two-down players. Logan Barnes Logan Barnes 6'1" | 265 lbs | DL St. Peter's Prep | 2023 State NJ has the skillset to be a three-down player giving you contributions as a pass rusher while having enough athleticism to execute twists and stunts. Barnes will be an impact defensive lineman for any collegiate team he plays for.
One of the best interior and most productive defensive linemen this past season in one of the nations hardest conferences! Numbers don’t lie, and film definitely doesn’t lie. If you haven’t already, check it out https://t.co/7TAvRupAtO

Brahim Wynn Brahim Wynn 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Timber Creek | 2024 State NJ ., Timber Creek, 2024
Position Fit: Wide 9 Technique
At 6’3 220lbs with already, a 6’6 wingspan the measurables to be a good pass rusher is already there. The only gripe we have is that Wynn has good burst, not great burst. Which can be a red flag or deterrent playing the wide nine technique. The wide nine technique is known for giving rushers a better advantage to attack offensive tackles by giving them essentially a head start as you make contact with the tackle and begin to bend the corner. Wynn could be deadly here because for someone who just finished their sophomore season he has a great handle of how to use his length and has some solid moves. At such a young age he seems to be getting a grasp on pass-rushing, as he projects to the collegiate level he could be an elite pass rusher if consistently lined up at a wide nine technique.
