This new series will be separated based on position so expect equal analysis of players just off their position group. It is already well known that the state of Kentucky is loaded with high school football talent. Although some of the players I will mention may already have college interests, this will be my take if I were given the call to recruit my own players at this current point in time. Today, I will start by naming offensive and defensive linemen players I would send offers to right now.
Bo Stinson OL | 6-2, 260lbs. Class of 2023 | Bourbon County High School, KY | Tape:
Bo is an athletic guard that can provide solid blocking despite multiple players on him. His strength is not to be underestimated, as he will just run people over when he is opening a gap for the ball carrier. Bo also has quick acceleration off the line of scrimmage and can keep up with the ball carrier to block incoming DBs. His determination to protect his quarterback is easily noticed, as he puts his body on the line every snap. Although he already received a DIII offer to Union College, I would easily be looking to offer this kid if I were recruiting for any JUCO or DIII school at the least.
Evan Miller OL | 6-3, 300lbs. Class of 2024 | Breathitt County High School, KY | Tape:
Evan Miller is a strong body playing the Center position. His brute strength enables him to push off any opposing tackle with little to no difficulty. I got to see Evan at the VTO Sports Elite 100 Camp in Elizabethtown a few weeks back and he impressed me with his footwork and hand placement in drills. Evan’s mechanics are top-notch and knows how to play the position well. Considering he still has 2 years left of high school football, I expect him to get better each year and that alone would make me interested as a college coach. At his current state, I would offer him at any JUCO or DIII school but I expect to see more interest from higher division schools in his future.
Jerry Nevils DE | 6-5, 230lbs. Class of 2023 | Trimble County High School, KY | Tape:
Jerry is an aggressive edge rusher that can cause pressure on the opposing quarterback at lightning speed. Jerry has a tall physique which makes it difficult for opposing guards to keep him at bay, which allows Jerry to get to the quarterback quicker. Jerry can also provide lockdown 1-on-1 man coverage if he faces an opposing ball carrier. Although he fits perfectly for the defensive end role, Jerry has the speed and agility to be able to play defensive back if he wanted. I would be heavily intrigued by this kid as a college recruiter for his potential to provide defensive pressure in different areas of the defense. He already has received interest from an NAIA and DIII school so I expect more schools to give him offers before or after his upcoming senior season.
Cameron Turner Cameron Turner 5'11" | 255 lbs | DL Nelson County | 2023 KY DL/OL | 5-11, 265lbs. Class of 2023 | Nelson County High School, KY | Tape:
What I like about Cameron Turner Cameron Turner 5'11" | 255 lbs | DL Nelson County | 2023 KY is his ability to provide a solid play on both sides of the football. Cameron can make solid blocks at the guard spot for his QB and also take reps at the DT spot and make sacks on the quarterback. It is uncommon to find a player that can balance his effectiveness both on the defensive line and on the offensive line. I would offer him as a coach who is looking for remarkable utility players who can shine on offense and defense. Cameron has already been given interest by multiple schools for camp invites and visits however I would expect offers to be arriving soon as the season draws closer.
William Moore DT | 5-10, 247lbs. Class of 2025 | Fern Creek High School, KY | Tape:
Will is an extremely strong force playing D-tackle. What is remarkable about Moore’s game is his hand skills and his grip strength. Once Will grabs a hold of an opposing player, he is not letting go of that player whatsoever. Even with the slightest grasp of a player, Will can hold onto the player until he fully latches his strength on to tackle the player. Especially when trying to make a sack on a QB on the run, once Will can at least get a hold of a QB’s jersey, his back strength enables him to fully pull down the player to make the sack. It is like Will carries a bottle of sticky glue every snap of the game. Since he is only a freshman, I expect his game to further develop to an elite level and I would gamble as a college recruiter to throw an offer to him at this point. Although he has a lot of college camp invites, I expect to see actual offers being made to him in the near future.
