Continue ReadingPrep Redzone’s number one goal when posting rankings is to get your name, tangibly, in front of college coaches that subscribe to our site. Getting ranked is simple, send me your tape and if I and other are scouts believe you can play college football at anylevel, you will be listed. Grades are given to each kid based on merit, measurables, production, league competition, HS coach input, college interest and of course, the ol’ eye test.
You do not have to attend a camp to be ranked, you do not have to follow me, you don’t even have to send your film. It’s my job to find as much talent that I can find in Pennsylvania and provide exposure to said kids who deserve it. I have at least 30-40 kids from our two camps alone, that are unranked, whose performances have put them on the map. This article will shed some light on those from this past weekends camp who achieved this.
Expect a new updated rankings to drop sometime this June.
Elijah Weikle | 5’7, 165 | RB/ATH | Muncy | 2023
Five juniors are on this list, all five aren’t ranked on the site with Weikle possibly being the best of the group. A top-performer from this camp, Weikle has done more than enough to earn a spot on the list even before his showing this past weekend. Interested in how high he will be slotted.
Colten Danel Colten Danel 5'10" | 195 lbs | LB Forest Hills | 2023 State PA | 5’8, 202 | RB | Forest Hills | 2023
Colten Danel Colten Danel 5'10" | 195 lbs | LB Forest Hills | 2023 State PA not being ranked is a bit of a head-scratcher. Really solid film from the Forest Hills product, while also showing out at two different positions at both of our camps this year! The kid is a phenomenal worker, it’s the first thing that comes to mind when discussing the young man. Incredible work ethic, glad he could be shown some love at this event.
Marcus Quaker Marcus Quaker 5'11" | 170 lbs | QB West Perry | 2024 State PA | 5’11, 160 | QB | West Perry | 2024
I will talk more in-depth on Quaker’s game when we release the QB reports. Was really tough to pick out top-performers from many position groups, quarterback included. Quaker could have easily been an All-Camp selection as well, nonetheless, the kid put his name on Prep Redzone’s radar with the way he tested. Intrigued by this kid.
Chase Marshall | 5’11, 155 | WR/DB | Pennridge | 2025
Jack Leuthe | 6’0, 175 | RB/ATH | Pennridge | 2025
Here are Marshall and Leuthe’s respective testing scores.
Marshall: 4.58 40, 4.25 Shuttle, 9’1 Broad, 7.31 L
Leuthe: 4.58 40, 4.50 Shuttle, 8’6 Broad, 7.25 L
Impressive numbers for freshman. Add that they will be developed by a trusted staff at Pennridge HS and you instantly have two 2025 prospects to add to your radar. I am fond of many at this program, I’ll be sure to see each of these kids again in the future when I head out to cover Pennridge this Fall.
Chris Bressi | 6’0, 255 | DL | Neumann-Goretti | 2023
You can find real talent hidden in the depths of many Philadelphia Catholic Programs, especially Neumann-Goretti. Bressi is my latest find. Real solid outing from the young man. He and Koren Robinson handle interior defensive line duties for one of the better D-Line units in Philadelphia. A spot on our rankings is coming.
Logan Kurzweg | 5’11, 270 | OL/DL | Wilson | 2024
Here’s a completely new name to me. It’s why I value camps like these, I may have not been familiar with Kurzweg before the camp, but I sure as hell am now. Offensive line top-performer, as well as 2nd-Team All-Camp honors at OL as well. He did more than enough to earn his spot on the 2024 set.
Da’Ron Goodwine | 6’3, 280 | OL | PCC | 2025
Mightily impressed with this young kid out of PCC who’s family traveled 6+ hours to attend the event! I always value when time, money and training is invested in us, the least I can do is reciprocate that. Goodwine moved so well for someone this new to football. He’s still developing, but PCC could have a valuable piece to their trenches growing in front of our eyes.
Tyler Hurst | 5’10. 199 | OL/DL | Garden Spot | 2023
Hurst’s tape alone earns him a spot on the rankings. A OL/DL prospect who is athletic enough to provide linebacker reps if need be. He proved the latter of my previous statement with how well he tested for a 200-pound prospect.
4.79 40, 4.47 Shuttle, 9’1 Broad, 7.22 L.
A junior who is deserving of more looks. Hoping the rankings can help in doing so.
Tristen Showers | 6’0, 240 | OL/DL | Lampeter Strasburg | 2023
Can’t exaggerate when I say, every time I looked up #100 was winning his rep. The argument for 1st-Team All-Camp could have easily been made. The fact that this young man isn’t already on the rankings is a complete oversight on our part. Excited to change that.
