In this article, we will analyze some of the best players concerning offensive skill positions. This includes Quarterbacks, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers! These young men have the speed, skill set, and playmaking ability it takes to play at the next level as well! Without further notice, let’s take a look at some of the best players in the class of 2023 in the Houston area.
Justin Williams- 6’4 175Ibs/WR,FS/ MacArthur High School
Analysis: Justin Williams is a player to look for this upcoming season. On film, this young man has shown that he has the skills it takes to be a key playmaker. He has a very good build for an outside receiver as well. Williams has really good hands and runs his routes smoothly too! He has decent speed which allows him to make plays after the catch. At the safety position, he does an excellent job at being a ball hawk, and making tackles! Finally, he does a good job at breaking up passes! Look for him to improve and stand out his senior season.
Pierce Richards- 5’10 180Ibs/WR/ Kingwood Park High School
Analysis: Pierce Richards is an under the radar player on this list, because he hasn’t gotten the recognition he deserves! This young man possesses great strength benching 275 pounds and squatting 385 pounds! Richards does an excellent job at making catches in tight windows. He is quick and explosive in his cuts while running his routes. Next, he does have good speed which makes him fast enough to break away from defenders in the open field. Also, he possesses good jump ball skills! Moving forward, look for Pierce Richards to have a great senior season.
Darnell Green Darnell Green 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Cypress Lakes | 2023 State TX – 5’11 170Ibs/RB/Cy Lakes High School
Analysis: Darnell Green Darnell Green 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Cypress Lakes | 2023 State TX is a very good running back out of the Houston area! Green runs with tremendous balance and power. This young athlete has very good hands coming out of the backfield, and uses his smooth footwork to slide by defenders in close spaces. He also does a really good job breaking tackles, and fighting to get extra yards. Darnell Green Darnell Green 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Cypress Lakes | 2023 State TX also has the speed to take it to distance at any time! Green is on pace to have an outstanding senior season, if he keeps up his level of play.
Myles West- 5’10 180Ibs/RB,FS,SB/ Cypress Woods High School
Analysis: Talk about explosive! Myles West is one of the most explosive backs I have seen in the city of Houston. He has excellent ball carry vision which allows him to hit the gaps very quickly. West also runs with authority, powering and barreling over defenders in his way! Even though he is not the fastest, he can still pull away from defenders quickly. West has a solid build and with more training and development, he will only turn into a beast out of the backfield! Look for him for the upcoming 2022 season!
Seth Salverino- 6’1 187Ibs/WR/ Cinco Ranch High School
Analysis: Seth Salverino is a very good prospect at the wide receiver position that you must keep an eye on this year! This young man has great speed clocking a 4.44 40 yard dash, and he is tremendous after the catch! He breaks tackles and does not go down easily as well! Salverino is an extremely dangerous threat on special teams and will make you pay if you do not fill your lanes correctly. He is also a great route runner, and is crispy in and out of his cuts! Salverino is a physical receiver that can get off of press coverage and make a play too! Watch out for him in the future at Cinco Ranch High School!
