PRZ Next Northeast Showcase: Linemen All-Showcase Second Team
In this article:
The Prep Redzone Next Northeast showcase popped off this past weekend, with athletes from 10 different states taking part. Athletes from as far away as Texas traveled to compete with, and against, many of the top 2026-2028 prospects in the region. Here’s a look at the Offensive and Defensive Linemen who were named to the All-Showcase Second Team.
James Mackenzie | 2026 | New York
Mackenzie is part of a very impressive class headed to DePaul Catholic, as he begins his high school career in the fall. My second time seeing Mackenzie in the last few weeks and he again had an impressive showing. Already 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds.
Channon Johnson | 2026 | New Jersey
Johnson had some flashes of pure domination at the Showcase. At 5-foot-11 and a massive 310 pounds, he’s an absolute load in the middle of the Defensive Line. The two-gap, interior guy isn’t just a space eater. Showed a powerful bull rush. He’ll be at Saint Joseph Regional (Montvale) for high school.
Adrian Villalta | 2026 | New Jersey
Viallalta was another guy that really got after it at the Showcase. At 5-foot-10 and 240 pounds he won a lot of 1-on-1 reps at the camp with quickness off the snap. Competitive with a growing mean streak, Villalta is headed to Union City High School and should shine on both sides of the ball early.
Will Tellers | 2026 | Connecticut
Tellers has an encouraging performance at the Showcase. Showed good size at 6-foot-2 and 252 pounds. Took him a little bit to get rolling, but when he did he showed why he’s off to Choate Rosemary Hall for High School. The Wild Boars finished the 9th ranked team in the state last year.
Oji Numa Oji Numa 6'1" | 245 lbs | OL Northeastern | 2026 State PA | 2026 | Pennsylvania
From start to finish I loved the positive attitude and corresponding positive flashes, he showed off at the Showcase. There were some very big Linemen in attendance, and at first I could see Numa playing a little hesitant. However, he acclimated, adjusted and stepped up. I’ll take a player who can do that.
Carlos Malespin Carlos Malespin 6'1" | 285 lbs | OL Iona Prep | 2026 State NY | 2026 | New York
Malespin was a hard one for me to keep off the First Team selections. Loved his pass blocking ability and how advanced his pass set was. Had one of, if not the best, kick slides. Kept his back straight and his chest up. His plant leg was strong and he covered ground nicely. He’ll be at Iona Prep in the fall.
Preston & Owen Bernard Owen Bernard 6'2" | 265 lbs | OL The Haverford School | 2027 State PA | 2027 | Pennsylvania
Don’t typically like to combine players in a write up if I can avoid it, but it’s justified with the Bernard twins. Obviously identical twins, they are technicians along the front. Their father played at Temple University back in the day and it’s obvious both boys have the ability to do the same. No wasted movement from the moment they put their hand in the dirt, to engagement, to the whistle. Fundamentally they’re at the top of the list from what the limited reps I’ve seen 2027 prospects take. They’re both well-built, strong kids in the 210 pound range. They both have another year of youth ball before they presumably will have their pick of high schools in the greater Philadelphia area.
