There was a whole lot of buzz coming from some of the Northeast’s top middle school football players on the field turf, as they competed and tested. And there were a bunch of standouts and here we’ll dive into to the top performing RBs that make up the PRZ NEXT Northeast Showcase: RB All-Showcase First Team.
Anthony Walker | 2026 | New Jersey
Walker who is heading to Bergen Catholic for high school stood out from registration! Walker boasts thick developed muscles and its evenly distributed throughout his 5’9” 197 pound frame. Giving Walker the look of a college RB already. Showed great lateral movement, combined with hiccup feet. Can take hand offs from the backfield or line up in the slot or out wide and looks extremely comfortable. Easily got off jam techniques by LB’s and DB’s showing good hand fighting skills. Hands are very good and the speed is there for this 2026 New Jersey prospect. Didn’t play in 2021 due to a medical issue caused by a sinus infection, but that only allowed his body to get ready for high school football and it’s the only reason he doesn’t have an early offer yet. That should change come this fall and winter though, as I see Walker gaining momentum on the recruiting trail.
Luke Gialanella Luke Gialanella 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Pope John | 2027 State NJ | 2027 | New Jersey
Fast, twitchy, elusive, above average hands and the ability to catch out the backfield or from the slot. Routinely got away from DB’s and LB’s in 1v1s with sick route running ability for a RB. Showed good skill during Indy RB drills, had a consistent high knee drive over the step over bags and was very quick in and out his breaks in during read and react RB drills and has a solid jump cut for a middle schooler. Looks to be a viable 3 down back entering HS and I can’t wait to watch his progress.
Aidan Smith | 2026 | New Jersey
Coming in at around 5’4”/5’5”ish Smith caught my attention during the 40 yard dash and 3 cone shuttle immediately. And at 180 pounds it was a sight to see his quick, nimble feet and above average shiftiness. Had a Couple of dropped passes so you’d like to see him continue to work on his pass catching ability but he can already create separation at the top of his route from LBs. Clocked 4.90 in the 40 (hand time) and 4.60 in the 3 cone shuttle.
Marquez Wimberly Marquez Wimberly 5'9" | 185 lbs | ATH Nazareth | 2026 State PA | 2026 | Pennsylvania
Speed, speed, speed and even more speed is exactly what you immediately see from the 2026 Pennsylvania native. Tested off the charts at PRZ NEXT Northeast Showcase with a 4.37 40 and 9’9” broad jump. With that kind of athleticism there’s no wonder Wimberly is already regarded as a top 2026 Pennsylvania prospect and it should be more solidified after this fall. Ball carrier vision is there, one cut and get north type of back that gets to the second and third level of defenses in a hurry and at the middle school level that’s hard to deal with. His speed and play making ability that he displayed at the Showcase are strong indicators that Wimberly will be an early standout in high school and has more than enough potential to be considered a For Certain Power 5 recruit in the future if he continues developing the way he has over the past 2 years.
Kadir Younge | 2026 | New Jersey
Another Jersey native makes the RB All-Showcase First Team. Younge is gifted and a nice looking young RB prospect. Looked clean, smooth and explosive in RB drills and that quickly translated to the competition portion of camp. Won the majority of his 1v1 reps and his lateral quickness (4.30 3 cone shuttle). Can see Younge garnering an offer by end of his freshman year/early part of his sophomore year. Keep an eye out for this New Jersey baller over the next 4 years.
Mahki Mitchell Mahki Mitchell 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Neumann-Goretti | 2026 State PA | 2026 | Pennsylvania
The Philly native put on for his home state at PRZ NEXT Northeast Showcase. Good size for the position already, Mahki showed quick feet and a good burst when finishing during RB drills. Runs with a good forward lean with shoulders over toes with nice parallel knee drive. Good acceleration in and out of cuts and breaks and runs hard. Put up a 7.35 L-Drill (hand time) and you saw that Change of direction ability in 1v1s where he got pass LB’s and DB’s in route and at the top of his route. Still learning and developing but looks primed to have a stellar prep career in Pennsylvania with offers before his junior year of high school.
