Like all of you, I cannot wait for the opening kick of the 2022 high school football season. Soon-to-be seniors across the Lone Star State are ready to hit the gridiron in pursuit of a district championship. Many of them - like these five players - are eager to show college coaches that they deserve an opportunity to play at the next level.
Included in this article is a top-tier dual-threat quarterback with no offers yet, a cornerback in Lubbock who can lock up just about any receiver, and his teammate, an all-around athlete who can flat out play.

QB Jaylon Robinson – 6’0″ 190 / Red Oak HS — @JaylonGoingD1
Junior Stats: 2,518 all-purpose yards, 25 touchdowns
Robinson should have an offer by now. He’s a bit small for the position, but is a dual-threat QB that really shines on Friday nights. Has the poise and moxie you want to see in the pocket, and puts some nice touch on his throws. Arm strength is above average, and shows the ability to drop it in the bucket when his wideouts are contested deep. Dangerous as a runner when things break down.
No offers yet.

ATH Raheim Ross – 5’11″ 190 / Lubbock Estacado HS — @RaheimRoss
Junior Stats: 51 tackles, 8 pass breakups, 2 interceptions
In 2021, Ross made his presence felt, as he has tremendous range at the safety position and is relentless when coming downhill in run support. He has fluid hips, and shows solid instincts and route recognition, with good vision to read the quarterback. Has a great burst to close on receivers and eat up space in a hurry. Keep an eye on the young Matador as the season gets underway.

ATH Will Larrison – 6’1" 210 / New Waverly HS — @Will_Larrison
Junior Stats: 1,800+ all-purpose yards, 93 tackles
If you’re a running back, good luck getting to the edge when Larrison is lined up at linebacker. He closes very well in the run game, and does a great job covering tight ends in the throw game. As a running back, Larrison runs with a punishing style - plus, he’s a one-cut downhill player who gets north and south. Projects as a LB at the next level.

OT Jacob Fritz – 6’6″ 290 / Denton Guyer HS — @Fritz7711

Fritz does a very good job of latching onto defenders and turning them to open up holes, creating space in the run game. He has solid strength to sustain his blocks, and can ride defenders around the field. Once he latches on, they can have a tough time disengaging. As a pass blocker, there’s a lot of upside that college coaches will like. He sets well and shows good footwork.
Holds an FCS offer from Stetson University.

CB Elijah Hawkins – 6’2" 165 / Lubbock Estacado HS — @Elijah4Hawkins
Hawkins is a loose-hipped cornerback who can cover anyone on an island. In zone coverage, he gets a read on the quarterback and jumps routes exceptionally well. Dominant versus the run, and has the physicality to come downhill and stop runners in their tracks.
No offers yet.
