Jayden Oates

Booker T Washington | 2024
State
OK
– Booker T Washington
(Ranked #35 Overall – #2 LB)
Booker T Washington will be losing quite a lot of talent from their secondary from last year’s team. But the good news is they return several of their defensive standouts on the front seven and one of then is 2024 prospect Jayden Oates Jayden Oates 6'1" | LB Booker T Washington | 2024 State OK . Although he’s listed as a defensive end on the roster and might play closer to the line of scrimmage, that is out of necessity on the high school level. But when you look at his body and his ability on the field, it definitely translates to more of a linebacker. Whether that’s inside or outside, that could still be up for debate. Although with his experience close to the line of scrimmage, he might be better off on the outside. Nevertheless, players like Oates will be tasked with making sure that the Hornets don’t take a step back this fall as they look to contend for the gold ball. With big bad Bixby out of 6A-2, plenty are looking to the Hornets to become one of the favorites.
Teyton Chandler

Victory Christian | 2024
State
OK
– Victory Christian
(Ranked #37 Overall – #3 LB)
Victory Christian linebacker Teyton Chandler Teyton Chandler 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Victory Christian | 2024 State OK is one of the best 2024 prospects that not many know about right now. Chandler has been a playmaker for Victory Christian since he was a freshman and he really has the chance to be one of the better linebackers to come out of Victory Christian over the last few years. The linebacker position was absolutely loaded in the 2022 class, especially in the Tulsa area and Chandler is one of the next ones up. He’s already produced on the varsity level and is a tackling machine. We really like his combination of size, power and the speed is underrated as well. Chandler can cover sideline to sideline and can drop back in pass coverage. That area has been improved this offseason while he was playing with Sooner 7. It’s certainly helped him in that department, making him a complete prospect at the linebacker position.
Jett Calmus

Jenks | 2024
State
OK
– Jenks
(Ranked #45 Overall – #4 LB)
We go from one linebacker who’s somewhat of an unknown name in the Tulsa area to a very familiar name in the Tulsa area with Jenks linebacker Jett Calmus Jett Calmus 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Jenks | 2024 State OK . The first thing that will come to mind with football fans are “linebacker” and “Calmus”. Combine that with “Jenks” and you have a 2024 linebacker in Jett Calmus Jett Calmus 6'1" | 200 lbs | LB Jenks | 2024 State OK that certainly has the genetics going for him. He also has a huge opportunity ahead of him to make an impact on the Trojan defense, a unit that has been one of the best in 6A-1 during their back to back state championships. We’ve written about this before but Jenks loses some serious talent along their front seven and that will leave an opening in the linebacker group. Calmus already has high expectations and based on some limited film of him on the field, he’s a player. We’re just waiting to see him make that same impact on the varsity level and become a breakout player this fall before he rockets up the ranks.
Carson Clagg
Carson
Clagg
5'10" | 190 lbs | LB
Chandler | 2024
State
OK
– Chandler
(Ranked #74 Overall – #5 LB)
And our final linebacker prospect on this breakdown is Chandler’s Carson Clagg Carson Clagg 5'10" | 190 lbs | LB Chandler | 2024 State OK , who comes in as the #5 linebacker in the state’s 2024 class. Clagg has been on the radar since his freshman year where he had a breakout season and became one of those “small school standouts” that might not get as much hype as some others but had a very productive year. Clagg had another solid season last year as a sophomore and we really like the physicality that Clagg plays with and he’s definitely one of the harder hitters in the state. While the first three linebackers on this breakdown were in the Tulsa area, there are a few other pockets of the state that have produced some linebacker talent as well. Clagg and his Lion teammates are looking to have an impactful 2022 season. They are in a tough district but Clagg and the Lions, who have some serious talent coming back, are looking to compete for an elusive playoff spot.
