Continue ReadingNoxubee Co is a team full of traditional things. They have been very successful over the last fifteen years and they are not new to being in the state championship. They have been performing very well this summer during 7v7. Their 7v7 team won the AJ Brown 7v7 Camp two weeks ago. They have some hungry players returning. I would like to see them in action with the pads on before too many predictions get thrown out there, but it’s just no secret these guys are going to shine this year. Coach Teddy Young has led the Tigers to the state title twice with no gold balls returning back to Macon, MS. I’m sure that is leaving a bad taste in the Noxubee County Tigers mouth!
Bryson Kelly, 6-3 320, OL, 2023
Bryson is a very aggressive OL that you want to have on your team. He is a guy that you need to protect the blindside of your QB. I love the way he carries himself on the field. He doesn’t play any games about his skilled players. This guy gets a nice push when they run the ball. He can clear out some defensive lineman. He has a big frame that allows him to not get man handled by nose guards and defense tackles in the middle. I would like to see him get lighter on his feet. There will be some edge rushers who come with a lot of speed and he needs to be prepared for that.
Anthony Little Anthony Little 6'0" | 190 lbs | WR Noxubee County | 2023 State MS , Jr, 6-0 190, WR, 2023
This kid is a true machine and is built like one. AJ has a frame that can be very tough on defensive backs. He is very muscular and has a very hard work ethic. AJ is going to be very explosive for the Tigers next season. He has been clocked at a 4.4 in the 40 and knows how to get open. He possesses a lot of athleticism. I love the way he doesn’t give away his routes. It’s hard to see him line up and instantly know what he is going to run. This kid knows how to get open. He doesn’t take a lot of time getting open. He isn’t hopping around for two seconds trying to get off the line. AJ will fit nicely on someone’s campus, but this season he will be catching touchdowns in Macon, MS.
KaMario Taylor, 6-3 185, QB, 2025
KT has a big arm. He was supposed to be their guy all last year, but he got hurt earlier in the season. He is a guy that loves to sit back in the pocket and make good decisions. He isn’t looking to take off. He plays in a good division and sees good competition. That competition will test him a lot in this season. He will see a lot of different blitzes and defenses to help stop his big arm. KaMario is a guy that will accept all of those challenges head first. He is a true general on the field. I was able to catch one of his training sessions. Him and receivers would do at least twenty push-ups every time they made mistakes. KaMario is very poised in the pocket. He’s just back there chilling ready to make something happen every play. There is one play I alway talk about that I saw him do in 7v7. He was going through his progressions on this play very well. Everyone was anticipating a simulation sack. KaMario got the ball out of his hands a threw a perfect ball to his receiver who was making his way across the field right where Taylor wanted him.
Dequadrion Welch Dequadrion Welch 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Noxubee County | 2024 State MS , 5-9 175, WR, 2024
Welch is a quick, athletic, aggressive guy for the Noxubee Co Tigers. He has nice hands and knows how to get open. He can break the field open and is good at getting separation. He is a good that is good in the short-yardage game. He doesn’t need a lot of time to find separation. He can stretch the field or be a possession guy. He is a motivator on the field. He doesn’t let his team get down and he is a competitor. Welch wants to win every time he steps on the field. It can be 7v7 or live ball in the fall. He is up for the competition. I am from Louisville so I’ve even caught myself in a jaw-jacking match with him a time or two. He is going to bring that edge to the game every time be steps on the field. If you aren’t ready to compete don’t line up opposite of Welch. He is going to make you work for it.
