This is a group headlined by D1 athletes, rising stars, and kids prepared to breakout. These underclassmen are going to make names for themselves very early in their playing career. College coaches, make sure you have these dudes on your recruiting boards, and don’t forget to check out the film through the link. Let’s get into why these kids have me excited for their rankings debut!
Tre Poteat, DB- Verona Area (Tre’s Freshman Highlights)
This is my most anticipated debut of all the Classes. I hate spoilers, but the DB with multiple FBS offers will debut as the #1 player in the Class of 2025 when the rankings update later this summer. The 6’ 170 lbs athlete made big play after big play in all three phases of the game last season. Tre has natural ball skills and attacks the ball at the catch point. In zone coverage, Tre reads and recognizes so quickly. He springs out of his backpedal and closes fast on the ball. Poteat is also a sound tackler and an effective blitzer off the edge. He clearly stood out on the field this past fall, and there is no doubt he will do the same on Friday nights. The offers are only going to continue to come for the star athlete. I’m going to enjoy watching him for the next three years while he and Verona look to dominate on Friday nights.
Grayson McCain, QB- Pius XI
Grayson doesn’t have any game film up, but the 7 on 7 clips on his Twitter have me very fired up! Also, his frame is already perfect for the next level at 6’4″ 190 lbs. From what can be seen in his 7 on 7 videos, Grayson uses that massive frame to generate a lot of velocity on his passes. On his short to intermediate throws you won’t see any arc on the ball. It fires out of his hand on a frozen rope, and it hits where he wants it to. Despite his massive frame, Grayson has quick footwork and a quick release and throwing motion overall. I’m excited to see the QB competition and play from the position this season at Pius XI. Excited to watch Grayson the next 3 years.

Nicholas McCullough Nicholas McCullough 6'3" | 240 lbs | DL Muskego | 2025 State WI , DL- Muskego (Nicholas’ Freshman Highlights)
Nicholas has had a great offseason. He stood out at the Prep Redzone WI Prospect Tour with his performance in drills and 1 on 1 battles. The 6’3″2 25 lbs DE has also been grinding in the weight room this offseason. He is putting on the size needed to make the jump to Friday nights. It has me excited because he checks off size, and strength. The best part is that the young man has an already well developed collection of pass rush moves. He consistently shows a rip and swim move that get him into the backfield to create havoc. Muskego has openings on the DL, so Nicholas has the talent and opening to breakout. I can’t wait to see where he debuts in the rankings.
Isaiah Roberts, OL- Riverside University (Isaiah’s Freshman Highlights)
Isaiah is fun to watch. The 6’ 275 lb freshman demolished kids at the freshman level this past fall. He has superior upper body strength and strong hands that clamp on to defenders and steer them off the ball and into the dirt. Isaiah possess solid body control that allow shim to not get caught reaching or losing his block that could leading to holds. His run blocking is definitely his strength right now. I’ll be looking forward to seeing the steps he has taken this past offseason. I can’t wait to see how light he is on his feet and how his frame as changed as he continues to grow. He will have a solid debut among a class looking for the next wave of OL.
Jacob Hanson, ATH- Green Bay Southwest (Jacob’s Freshman Highlights)
This is one of my favorite freshman. He is an insane grinder in the weight room where he has shown massive gains and great form. He also is a 4.0 student. Jacob gets it done in the class room, weight room, and the field. On the field, the RB/LB was an impact as a freshman on varsity for the three games he got to play in. Coming in at 5’11’ 192 lbs, Jacob has a frame that is developing into a solid form for either position. On offense, Jacob is a north-south runner who relies on power and contact balance to gain yards and set the tone. He uses that same physicality on defense where he is a downhill run stuffer and sound tackler. Look for a high debut, and a breakout season on varsity this fall.
Erik Schmidt, K- Marquette
It isn’t very often that a K or P has me excited for a rankings debut, but Erik is a special prospect. Kohl’s has him as the #1 punter and kicker in the nation. It is clear to see why. He is 6’1″ 175 lbs already and he has a cannon for a right leg. His best field goal is from 65 yards out, and he consistently sends 60 yarders through the uprights. We have a legitimate FBS talent here with the Marquette specialist. We will be watching him and his right leg do their thing on Saturdays in a few years. If college coaches need a new leg in 2025 then this is your man. Simple as that.
Feels amazing to start early morning football workouts, here is a good hit from this morning. 60 yarder with zero wind. pic.twitter.com/193h5qtgGv
