Arkansas-Monticello Camp News

Over the past few weeks, the camp season has hit full force. In a weekend that witnessed great performances in Dallas and Conway, Monticello had plenty of strong performances as well. Arkansas-Monticello hosted a camp over the weekend and had plenty of Arkansas prospects that produced impressive results on the field. We are going to look at several prospects that had excellent showings at Monticello. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="346633" first="Kennedy" last="Stockton"]-Offensive Line-Sheridan-2023</strong> One prospect that is having a terrific offseason is Sheridan offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="346633" first="Kennedy" last="Stockton"]. Stockton displayed quick feet over the weekend and impressed Arkansas-Monticello coaches in the process. Stockton has the strength and the speed needed to make an impact on Saturdays in the future. He is a prospect that has the potential for another strong season this upcoming season. I look forward to seeing what he has in store for the 2022 season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="355759" first="Zavarius" last="Johnson"]-Defensive Back-Monticello-2023</strong> Johnson is a prospect in the secondary that opened some eyes at the Monticello camp over the weekend. He put on display good speed and terrific instincts in the secondary this past weekend. I am extremely impressed how he goes after the ball while it is in the air. Johnson is a prospect that can play either the cornerback or the safety position. He has the potential to have a big season for Monticello. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="178752" first="Hunter" last="Ferrell"]-Quarterback-Bauxite-2023</strong> The Bauxite quarterback is a prospect that is comfortable fitting the ball into some tight windows. Ferrell is a quarterback that can burn the ball into his wide receiver or take some heat off the ball and throw the fade routes. The mobility that Ferrell has in and out of the pocket is impressive. He knows when it is time to use his legs to pick up yards on the ground. The Arkansas-Monticello coaching staff was impressed enough with Ferrell’s ability to offer him a scholarship over the weekend. Ferrell is just getting started and I expect another strong season from the Bauxite signal caller in 2022. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="236120" first="King" last="Webb"]-Linebacker-Lake Village-2023</strong> Webb is a linebacker that is always around the football. He racked up over 115 tackles a season ago and has the potential for a strong 2022 football season. Webb plays with good speed and does an impressive job of reading the play and blowing the play up in the backfield. The Lake Village linebacker had an impressive showing at the Arkansas-Monticello camp over the weekend. He is a prospect to watch out for this season and I expect a strong season from the talented linebacker. Tomorrow we will have an article out over the impressive performances from several camps and tournaments from this past weekend. On Friday night, I will have an article over the Alma Showcase taking place all day Friday in Alma. I encourage folks to get out there and catch a little 7-on-7 should they have the time. The people in Alma do a great job of running this event and Prep RedZone Arkansas is excited to be there this week.
