In this article, we’ll take a look at three standout seniors and two underclassmen that have bright futures ahead of them — including a rising Class of 2024 prospect and an All-State sophomore in Columbus.
QB Hudson Hulett – 6’3″ 205 / Springtown HS — @Hudson_Hulett / Class of ’24
Sophomore Stats: 2,816 total yards and 33 touchdowns
I am a big fan of the Porcupines’ signal-caller as he enters his second season as the starter. He’s got nice arm strength, puts nice touch on his throws, and stays poised in the pocket. He also displays the ability to work through his progression until he finds the open man.
I only see a few college coaches following him on social media, and I think it’s safe to say that a great junior season will boost his recruiting stock a great deal.

QB Michael Phillips – 6’5″ 200 / North Forney HS — @KingMike_10 / Class of ’23
Phillips is an impressive athlete who’s most dangerous when rolling out of the pocket. He completed just 42% of his passes last season, a number that will need to improve this fall. Would thrive in a wide-open offense that emphasizes the run-pass option.
If he can improve his accuracy, will undoubtedly have some college offers at season’s end.

QB Haydn Harris – 6’2″ 180 / Diboll HS — @HaydnHarris07 / Class of ’23
The Lumberjacks are led by one of the better quarterbacks in Class 3A. As a junior, Harris led them to the Region III championship game, a feat he will look to build upon this fall. He’s a dual-threat who can put it right on the money, even when throwing across his body. Very nice prospect for a program looking for a signal-caller with the potential to develop into a quality starter.

QB Chase Goodwin – 6’2″ 205 / Memorial HS — @Chase_Goodwin1 / Class of ’23
Goodwin has a quick release and puts some heat on his throws – two traits that will serve him well at the next level. Threw 13 touchdowns last season, to just one interception. Accuracy can be a bit of an issue, but overall, this talented prospect from Houston has a bright future in front of him. The National Honor Society member sports a 6.57 weighted GPA and a 1560 SAT score.
Receiving FCS interest from Columbia.

QB Adam Schobel – 6’4″ 180 / Columbus HS — @AdamSchobel / Class of ’25
Freshman Stats: 1st Team All-State. 2,440 passing yards, 28 touchdowns. 68% completion.
Adam, the son of former NFL tight end Matt Schobel, took ownership of the starting QB job for the Cardinals as a young freshman.
He shows great touch on deep throws, impeccable timing, and he looks comfortable both in the shotgun and under center. Perhaps the most impressive thing, though, is that he led his squad to the third round of the playoffs – as a 15-year old. The future looks bright, not only for Schobel, but for the Columbus Cardinals.
His stock will undoubtedly continue to rise.
