With so many players making their rounds to showcase their skills at camps across the state, it is important to highlight those who put on top performances in front of college coaches against stiff competition.
This article will highlight five players from the class of 2023 who have started their incoming senior camp tour off with a bang!
Gage Ginther | Fossil Ridge | 2023 OL/DL
Ginther has worked to solidify himself as a top prospect to add to the trenches, and it has been paying off for him. After receiving his first Division I offer from Colorado State University in February, Ginther has added two more offers to his collection. The most recent came after the first day of camp at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Ginther’s power, quickness, and football IQ, mixed with his 6-foot-6 frame, have helped to land him high on the lists of big named programs, and he is barely getting started.
After a great talk and camp with @KyleDeVan68, I’m super excited to announce that I’ve received my 1st PAC 12 offer from CU!! @CUBuffsFootball @SixZeroAcademy @k_dorrell @AndyWangCU @FossilFootball pic.twitter.com/PrJlrktNfA

KJ Smedley KJ Smedley 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Palmer Ridge | 2023 State CO | Palmer Ridge | 2023 DB/ATH
Smedley is a player who has been high on the radar for quite some time now, and the beginning of his senior camp season has kicked off with him earning his first D1 offer from the University of Northern Colorado. He was a man on fire during the UNC camp, where he was flying around the field and making plays at every turn. Smedley also emerged as a top prospect during Kansas State’s Elite Camp, making him a recruit with a high stock value.
#AGTG Extremely blessed to receive my first D1 offer from @UNC_BearsFB. Thank you @coachscottyd, @notoriousmax25, @armour223, and @87ed! @PRFBOfficial @coach_askew @JBook_88 @TheSHOWByNXGN @AWilliamsUSA @daDBwhisperer @ColeCarmody52 @Mansell247 @GPCwallace pic.twitter.com/CvneSWbONN

Lyam Edwards Lyam Edwards 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH Ponderosa | 2023 State CO | Ponderosa | 2023 DB/WR
Edwards popped up on the radar shortly after his junior season, but his stock value has rapidly increased. He and his team attended CSU Pueblo’s pad camp, and he quickly stood out from the rest. He showed his fantastic speed and electrifying catching skills as a receiver while also displaying his incredible instincts and physicality as a defensive back. Edwards was one of the top performers at the game-like camp, which only reinforces his sleeper status as a prospect.
Thank you too @CSUPFootball and @CoachWristen for putting on the camp this week. Looking forward to this senior SZN. @_CoachDonald @performanceemp @JaronCohen1 @_pondofootball @PrepRedzoneCO @coachwes_23 pic.twitter.com/szXfuMUb0q

Kaiden Box Kaiden Box 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Skyline | 2023 State CO | Skyline | 2023 QB
Box is one of the state’s best kept gunslinging secrets, but the cat is out of the bag after his performance at the UNC camp in Greeley, CO. He stood out during the camp by separating himself as one of the top passers in attendance, garnering serious attention from spectators and staff members. Box has one of the better arms and throwing mechanics in the state, which has finally started to land him the attention he deserves.
Thank you @87ed and @notoriousmax25 for a great camp today. Also big thank you to @jjraterink for the great feedback on my throws. Love being able to come out show my skills and improve! @traininthecore @FalconAthletics @TeamFullGorilla @FairchildQB @PrepRedzoneCO @UNC_BearsFB pic.twitter.com/y1ue88zbN5

Jordan Niesent Jordan Niesent 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Poudre | 2023 State CO | Poudre | 2023 RB/WR
Niesent is a speedy playmaker who put on an impressive performance at the camp hosted by the CU in Boulder. In addition to clocking a 4.57 second 40-yard dash time, Niesent was carving up the turf as an unstoppable receiver during the one-on-one and team portion of the camp. His ability to make plays as a do-all offensive weapon sets him apart from the pack, making him a must-know prospect at camps.
