The field of players was impressive with players from Louisiana, Texas, California and more showcasing themselves on the big stage. I will dive into more names that drew my attention with their performance.
Kameron Sallis | Kennedale High School (Kennedale, TX) | DB | 6’1″ 195lbs | Class of 2023
I was really impressed with Sallis. I know Mayo walked away with an offer but in my eyes, Sallis and Wesley Okafor were the two best DBs there. Sallis has the right amount of physicalness to get into a player and disrupt their route. He also does an amazing job of keeping his eye in the backfield to anticipate the throw and put himself in position to make the interception. There were very few occasions that Sallis got beat during 1v1s and I made sure to watch when he was up to defend. Sallis is currently committed to Kansas State but should draw the attention of more schools.

J.R. Lecuona | Millard South High School (Omaha, NE) | DL | 6’2″ 235lbs | Class of 2024
If you like your defensive lineman big and strong, Lecuona is for you. He has the size, strength and speed that has teams game planning for him each week. Every time I looked over at the lineman battles, Lecuona was bursting off the line and could not be contained. He has the ability and skill to around or through you and still has a couple years to develop. Lecuona will be a hot name on recruiting lists soon!

Jonathan Humpal Jonathan Humpal 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Lewis Central | 2023 State IA | Lewis Central High School (Council Bluffs, IA) | RB | 6’0″ 165lbs | Class of 2023
Humpal showed some serious skill during the camp. He is listed as a running back, but the most impressive part of his day was his ability to run routes to create space and his hands. Humpal knows how to put his foot into the ground to change directions with a burst of speed that defenders had trouble with. Watching his highlights, his cutting ability and field vision are high level, which allows him to find creases for bulk gains. Humpal was a sneaky favorite of mine as he made plays whenever his number was up!

Trey Ridley Trey Ridley 6'1" | 195 lbs | DB Blue Valley NW | 2024 State KS | Blue Valley Northwest High School (Overland Park, KS) | DB | 6’1″ 185lbs | Class of 2024
Ridley has good size and long arms. His ability to flip his hips and close on a ball were highlighted during 1v1s. He has long arms which allow his to disrupt incoming balls and keep defenders close. He has good physicality to either jam a receiver or fight off blocks to make a tackle. With a couple years to develop, I can see Ridley making a name for himself in the KC Metro area.

Hauss Hejny Hauss Hejny 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Aledo | 2024 State TX | Aledo High School (Aledo, TX) | QB | 5’11″ 165lbs | Class of 2024
There were talented quarterbacks littered on the field, however Hejny kept catching my eye. Hejny may not have the ideal metrics for quarterback but his athleticism and the zip he had on the ball were impressive. He has a quick release and can throw accurately on the move. I would venture to say the Hejny had one of the stronger arms there as the ball jumped out of his hand. Watching tape, Hejny is a pocket passer but his ability to use his legs might be an underrated part of his game. Hejny is a special talent!

Talan Chandler Talan Chandler 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Nevada | 2024 State MO | Nevada High School (Nevada, MO) | OL | 6’3 295lbs | Class of 2024
Chandler was certainly eye catching during the camp. Not only does he pass the eye test with his size but when he engages, he finishes plays. Chandler brings the action to the opposing teams often times reversing pressure to the defensive player to figure out how to get around him or keep them off them long enough to make a play. He is big, athletic and has a mean streak that generally leads his opponent down the field or on the ground. Chandler is one of the best offensive lineman prospects I have seen in a camp session.

Mark Anderson Mark Anderson 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Bellevue East | 2023 State NE | Bellevue East High School (Omaha, NE) | WR | 5’10″ 170lbs | Class of 2023
Route running and footwork are Anderson’s strengths. During 1v1s, Anderson used these strengths and consistently made plays against some strong defensive backs that led to high fives from current Husker players. Watching Anderson, you can tell he has a strong work ethic and desire to get better. His ability to drop his hips and sell a route will lead to a big year with the very talented Mikey Gow throwing the ball around for Bellevue East.
