QB Drew Sisemore, St. Bernards Academy
Sisemore is one of the top players from across all of Norcal going into the 2022 season. He is a very tough and poised quarterback that is a natural leader and does a ton of damage from the pocket. He is a high IQ player that goes through his progressions quickly while understanding when to take off and run and feels pressure in the pocket. Downfield, he is accurate across the field and gets the ball out quick while putting good touch and spin on it when delivering deeper throws. Underneath, he can fit the ball into tight windows throwing his receivers open and is very effective in the run game as well. He loves contact and runs through defenders while fast enough to gain the edge and sets up running lanes with a patient running style. Sisemore is in line to start both ways for one of the best small school teams in the state and will be in line for Player of the Year Honors.
RB RJ Loftin, Del Norte HS
Loftin is a tough and physical runner in-between the tackles while staying patient behind his blockers and sticking his toe in the ground to get vertical in a hurry. He is compact and runs hard while not avoiding contact and is one of the better two-way players across the region heading into this fall.
OL/DL Jacob Dane, Del Norte HS
Dane is one of the top offensive lineman across Norcal and has put together a terrific high school career. Having good natural size and strength for the tackle position, he is a physical kid that finishes blocks and is athletic enough to scrape to the second level and block in space while taking good angles. Playing with a heavy punch, strong base with leg drive, he can pull when needed and explodes through contact while finishing blocks.
OL Jamin Guilbert, Eureka HS
Guilbert will return as one of the top two-way lineman across the Humboldt region and is very active from his offensive tackle and defensive end position. In 2021, he was a multi-sack and TFL kid that showed a quick use of hands and good initial power against the run while finishing blocks downfield offensively and very patient with a good punch in pass protection. He will once again lead the way for the Loggers run game in 2022.
RB/LB Wyatt Simoni, St. Bernards Academy
Simoni is a jumbo athlete that burst onto the scene last season for the Crusaders and leads the way for their power running scheme when they aren’t going five wide. He is a physical runner with downhill power that shows good contact balance and a nice initial burst through the hole and is tough to bring down in one on one situations. Going into the Fall, he will be one of the most physical ball carriers across the Northern region and will also contribute in a big way from his linebacker or defensive line position.
DL/OL Jamarious January, St. Bernards Academy
January is a plug in the Crusader defense that is physical at the POA, can two gap and is athletic for his size while playing with a high motor and good pad level at the LOS. He is a tough kid that finishes blocks as the first level and excels at short area blocking while flashing some pass rush abilities with a variety of power pass rush moves at his disposal.
DE Jared Wallace, Arcata HS
Wallace is one of the top defenders across the entire region and a very active defensive end with size, strength and power at the POA. Explosive off the ball, he plays with heavy hands, a inside punch and locks out blockers against the run while able to bend the edge and show strong hands when rushing the passer. His length, size and athleticism make him a intriguing prospect at the next level.
RB Tyler Marsh, McKinleyville HS
Marsh is another two-way impact player that helped his team make a playoff push last Fall and should make a big impact in 2022. He is a tough runner with good open field speed and balance when bouncing off tackles and has the speed to bounce it outside when needed. He can effectively return kicks and punts as well as he shows ball skills, open field vision and cutback ability with the ball in his hands.
