Earl Woods 5’11 165 QB
We’ve officially deemed Woods the Hellcat out of Hueytown. The explosive dual-threat Qb notched 3,000 yards passing and 2,000 on the ground and is looking to build on that coming into the fall. As a passer, Woods possesses a quick throwing motion and deep-ball accuracy. He shows comfort in the pocket and high pocket awareness when climbing and stepping into protection- or scrambling when his timer goes off. In addition to his timing, Woods’ head is always up looking for passing lanes when eluding rushers and blitzes- which is a rare skill in young QBs. With elite acceleration and elusiveness in the open field, Woods looks like an all-state running back whenever the opportunity presents itself to beat teams with his legs. Look for Woods to be one of the more electrifying players in the state and lead his team to another playoff push.

Derrick Davis Jr. 5’8 175 RB
Davis is a dynamic athlete whose lighting quickness makes him a top-tier all-purpose back. With elite acceleration, he has one of the better 0-60’s in the state. This combined with his excellent long speed makes Davis one of the biggest home-run threats in the 6A region. He shows extreme shiftiness and quick-twitch in small spaces making his elusiveness even more potent in open-field situations. As a pass-catcher, he’s liable to pick up 5 yards or more after the catch with his natural instinct and playmaking skill. He can also line up at the slot and create a significant matchup issue with linebackers and safeties. Look for Davis to be a feature back who will account for heavy yards on the ground and the air.

Jakhael Rowser 5’8 150 RB/WR
Rowser is a smooth athlete who can get in and out of his cuts easily while maintaining his speed. This subtleness shows when he’s cutting off blocks or running routes against man coverage. He also has a wiry frame that enables him to beat arm tackles and get solid yards after contact. As a pass-catcher, he’s capable of taking the top off the defense or playing in space and creating yards after the catch -which provides roster flexibility. With good contact balance, lower body strength, and burst Rowser is a great running back/ receiver hybrid that will make plays all over the field the town.

Mikel Hines Mikel Hines 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Hueytown | 2023 State AL 6’3 230 OLB/DE
Hines is DE/OLB that plays above his listed weight. With a solid frame, he can be a bully on edge. With vicious clubs, bull rushes, and physicality Hines finds a way to backfield against the run and pass. However, in the run game, he shows excellent lateral quickness, closing speed, and burst when closing in on QBs and RBs. He’s comfortable setting the edge, defending the option, and containing perimeter plays as a rangy athlete on the edge. When he finally gets his hand on the ball carrier, he’s liable to go for the big hit, which always gets his team fired up. Look for Hines to continue to wreak havoc in the 6A area and be the leader of the defense.
