Charles Brown Jr., 2023, Pittsburg
Brown has had an excellent offseason and camp circuit after winning RB MVP at the National Preps Collegiate Showcase in April and then winning it again at the PRZ Prospect Tour. His speed and lateral agility were on display all day throughout testing, positional drills, and the one on one competition. He’s a quick twitch athlete with great feet, change of direction, and short area burst to be elusive and breakaway from defenders in space. Excellent field vision and center of gravity to make quick lateral cuts around defenders. Love his versatility and wide skillset to be effective both as a ball carrier and receiver. He shows strong hands and plus route running ability to be a big time threat in the passing game. Made several acrobatic and contested catches in the one on one period to solidify the RB MVP. He’ll be a big part of the explosive Pitt offense as a senior.
Anthony Alonzo Anthony Alonzo 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Oakland Tech | 2023 State CA , 2023, Oakland Tech
Alonzo was one of the biggest sleepers in the bay area going into this off season but pulled in an offer from Grambling State in April and has seen his recruiting stock on the rise since. He possesses a strong skillset that has continued to develop and improve year over year. He’s a smooth and savvy athlete that showed good short area burst and lateral agility in positional drills. He showed that he can press the line quickly and use that acceleration to find space and break through first level defenders. Loved his start/stop speed to make quick explosive cuts around defenders and accelerate out. In one on one competition, he flashed plus route running ability with an understanding of how to create positional leverage and space as a receiver. His versatile skillset could transition well to multiple positions at the college level. Also one of the top testers on the day finishing with a 4.56 40, 4.32 shuttle, 10’ broad jump, and 6.97 L Drill.
Paden White Paden White 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Bishop Alemany | 2024 State CA , 2024, Bishop Alemany
White has had to wait his turn behind two D1 RB’s at Bishop Alemany but has been performed well at camps/showcases this offseason. The sophomore is developing a good build at 5’11” 175 lbs. with good strength in his lower half. As a ball carrier, he attacks the LOS firing out of his stance with a quick first step and clean footwork. Does a good job making the first guy miss and then getting square up the field. He’s a slasher with good balance and body control to avoid defenders in space and extend gains into the second level. Good ability to make quick lateral cuts while maintaining his speed up field. On tape, love his field vision and anticipation to find an open running lane or cutback. Showed good hands and natural catching ability in one on one competition with the burst out his breaks to create separation. Good upside and potential as he continues to develop and get more experience.
Jeremiah Claiborne Jeremiah Claiborne 6'1" | 200 lbs | RB Bishop Alemany | 2023 State CA , 2023, Damien
At 6’1” 190 lbs. Claiborne has a strong well-balanced frame. He’s an aggressive downhill runner that shows good controlled burst after the exchange and through the first level. Flashes good pad level and leverage as a ball carrier allowing him to absorb contact and break tackles at the LOS and into the second level. He’s got good start/stop speed to be elusive in the open field and shows a sustained second gear to finish off long runs in the endzone. Like his field vision and awareness to see angles and successfully read blocks creating open running lanes for himself. Good understanding of ball security carrying it high and tight while protecting the ball on contact. As a junior, he rushed for over 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns. Look for a strong and productive senior season at Damien.
