Going into the 2022 season, these players are poised to have monster years and those who have not landed their first offer yet could be closing in soon…This is Part I of a II part series.
DB Leroy Bryant, Rodriguez HS
Bryant is one of the top defensive backs and overall two-way players in the entire state and has shut down high-level receivers at multiple camps he has attended. A very smooth and fluid athlete with quick hips in transition and breaking abilities, he holds several power five offers from the likes of Oregon, Washington and most all of the Pac-12. He has shown time and time again he is not afraid to lock down elite pass catchers and he is in line for a monster 2022 season.
DB Sailasa Vadrawale Sailasa Vadrawale 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Rancho Cotate | 2023 State CA , Rancho Cotate HS
The Rohnert Park product will be one of the top two way players across all of Northern California this Fall and has showed his dominance across several camps this Spring and early Summer. Locking in an official visit with Cal this month, other schools could make the move on the talented defensive back as he should leave right where he left off in 2021. He will be returning as the top player across the entire North Bay on a loaded Rancho Cotate roster.
LB Blake Nichelson Blake Nichelson 6'3" | 200 lbs | LB Manteca | 2023 State CA , Manteca HS
Nichelson is a no brainer multi-year starter at the power five level and has dominated every camp he has attended this off-season both in the testing, position specific drills and one on one’s. He is consistent in one on ones and rarely loses a rep while showing he has elite cover abilities against both running backs and receivers. A two way elite level athlete, he will do tons of damage for a tough Manteca squad this Fall.
IOL Cameron Vaughn Cameron Vaughn 6'3" | 280 lbs | LB St. Vincent De Paul | 2023 State CA , St. Vincent de Paul HS
Vaughn recently picked up two offers from the University of Pennsylvania and Western Oregon University over the past month. The high academic prospect has been very consistent during the one on ones at multiple camps and is an anchor against bull rushers while showing quick enough feet to win at the point of attack against speed rushers with length.
WR Israel Polk Israel Polk 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR St. John Bosco | 2023 State CA , Pittsburg HS
Polk is part of a very explosive Pittsburgh receiving corps that has multiple power five level talents at its disposal. He has strong hands and good downfield speed with the ability to track the ball and high point it in traffic. Always looking to compete against the top defensive backs at various camps, he will be one of the most dangerous weapons on the outside across all of Northern California this fall.
WR/DB Chris Lawson Chris Lawson 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Riordan | 2025 State CA , Foothill HS
Lawson is a very intriguing prospect as he is an elite level defender and pass catcher. He has tremendous length for a rising sophomore and elite body control in High Point ability especially in the red zone. Multiple power five schools have already offered the talented ’25 athlete and it will not be long until he is a national recruit.
RB Lamar Radcliffe Lamar Radcliffe 6'2" | 225 lbs | ATH Sacramento | 2024 State CA , Sacramento HS
It is hard to believe that Radcliffe is only a rising Junior as he is one of the most devastating ball carriers across the entire state. During various camps he has attended this off-season he has showed that he has improved his downfield speed and short area quickness while transforming his body from where it was a couple years ago. At multiple events, he has excelled in the one on one sessions beating defenders deep and underneath with soft hands and seemingly making difficult catches look easy. Radcliffe will have a monster 2022 season and will be a terror across the SJS.
