They both have Franklin’s program as top 3 on their long list of offers. Shortly after their visit, New York’s About U Organization drove down several standouts from the Empire State to compete at the camp and to further push the recruiting agenda for New York athletes. West Virginia, Syracuse, St. Francis University among several other schools were in attendance in Happy Valley to set more eyes on the participants. Here are some New York athletes that stood out
(WR) Jourdin Houston, Christ The King 2025
Jourdin clocked a 4.52 in his 40 yard dash instantly placing himself amongst the top receivers. At 6’2 185 pounds he consistently created a lot of separation as a deep threat against some of the top DBs of the day. He is not the shifty receiver but a fast and strong runner who can modulate his speed to smoothly leave his man behind. He has an early offer from Temple but his standout performance landed the eyes of multiple schools that will soon follow.
(QB) Victor Moran, Christ The King 2023
Victor is expected to make a big leap this year for the Royals. This leap has already begun. Moran is a member of the national honor society and also plays for the Royals baseball team. His commitment this summer is already starting to show. He has a solid frame at 6’3 220 pounds and though not a dual threat, he can definitely move the chains and break arm tackles if given space. He makes great decisions with the ball often tucking to gain yardage or throwing it away when needed. He is a very trustworthy quarterback who can consistently deliver great balls. In just the second camp I have seen him, his accuracy has improved significantly.
(DB) Sam Madu, Capital Prep 2024
Sam is 6’1 and weighs just a little over 160 pounds. He has great length and decent footwork. He ran a 4.6 in happy valley and has the potential to be much faster. Sam is a quick learner who shows a high ceiling as more reps become available for him this summer. He matched up well against some of the best receiver talent at Penn State’s camp. He did well to keep his feet within his frame against some shifty releases and routes in order to stay in position to make a play. With more fluidity in his hips and strength this summer Sam has a chance to gain recognition as he heads into an exciting junior year.
(FS)(CB) Terron Johnson, Iona Prep 2025
Terron stands at 6’0 and weighs just over 160 pounds and growing. He contributed 25 tackles and 2 interceptions in just his freshman year with the Gaels to aide them in their championship run. He is excellent in off man coverage as he can keep his man in front of him and use his speed to tag and trace the receivers step by step. He has good hips to open, turn and change directions efficiently. His techniques were on display as he covered some of the top receivers at camp. Some who even have offers from Coach Franklin. With more size and strength this offseason, Terron can be one of the top corners in the state as he returns for just his sophomore year for a breakout season.
