This time of year might not seem important to most, but this is when athletes can stand out to colleges, and get that offer they are seeking. Northern Arizona University was busy the last couple weeks, offering athletes from around the state of Arizona, with some getting their first offer of their high school career.
Adam Damante Adam Damante 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB American Leadership Academy (Gilbert North) | 2023 State AZ │Quarterback│6’2″ 180 lbs│American Leadership Academy Gilbert
Adam Damante Adam Damante 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB American Leadership Academy (Gilbert North) | 2023 State AZ is a very talented athlete who can hurt you in many different ways. Big, strong arm and can throw very accurate deep balls on many different routes. Throws to the boundry very well also, and knows when to put air under the ball and when to put the heat on, depending on the safety coverage. Rated at one of the best dual threat quarterbacks in the state, NAU offers Adam and becomes his first Division I offer. If Damante can continue his great play in the coming year, he will have plenty of colleges contacting him offering him spots on their collegiate roster.
After a great conversation with @CoachChrisBall and @aaronpflugrad I’m honored to say I’ve received my first D-1 offer!! @CoachPerrone @Elev8QBacademy @JTSlade40 @RandyRicedorff @ZakHill10 pic.twitter.com/geaNKxWTzu

Layton Duncan Layton Duncan 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Brophy | 2023 State AZ │Wide Receiver/Safety│6’1″ 185 lbs│Brophy
Dynamic playmaker that can impact the game at any moment, on any side of the ball. His ball skills are great, high points the ball when needed, catches the ball out in front of him with his hands and does not allow it to get to his body, and has great body control in the air. Quick moves in space, made people miss on plays to get to the end zone. He is aware of the game situation as well, knows where he is on the field, how far to run his routes to get open, and knows exactly what he is going to do with the ball after he gets it. The offers are starting to roll in this summer, and the Lumberjacks were quick to offer this stud. Expect a lot more to come in during the season, as Layton and Brophy Prep will be in contention this fall.

Micah Johnson Micah Johnson 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Sunrise Mountain | 2023 State AZ │Wide Receiver│6’2″ 190 lbs│Sunrise Mountain
Micah Johnson Micah Johnson 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Sunrise Mountain | 2023 State AZ as the speed and size of a college wide receiver. Johnson has the size at 6″2 190 lbs to play outside as wide receiver 1 but has the speed to play in the slot and run the quick short routes to get out in space and make people miss. With 4.5 speed, he burns defenders easily on go routes, and is very smooth off the line of scrimmage, never getting caught playing with the corners. Sunrise Mountain did a great job at getting him the ball as well, letting him run drag routes from the outside spot, having everyone run the defense up field, and having Micah catch in space and do what he does best. NAU was also his first D1 offer, and many followed after. With summer camps lined up, expect Micah to be very busy this summer.
After a great conversation with @coachJTaylor8 I am grateful to say i have received an offer to Northern Arizona University!! @SunriseMustangs @stevedecker982 @bangulo @azc_obert @BHoward_11 pic.twitter.com/hsx4JbJakS

Porter Reynolds Porter Reynolds 6'0" | 225 lbs | LB Queen Creek | 2023 State AZ │Outside Linebacker/Fullback│6’0″ 225 lbs│Queen Creek
I loved watching Porter’s film. Such a fun player to watch on both sides of the ball, I love how he plays on the defensive side of the ball. Listed as an outside linebacker, he also plays with his hand in the ground as a outside defensive end. Shows his speed on pass plays with a speed rush around the tackle, and on the next play he can swim past the lineman and stop the run. Very versatile and can help your team win games. I also love when he beats his man off the line of scrimmage, he already read the play on whether it’s a run or pass, and does not get too far up field, shuffles down the line, and tackles the running back. First team all region and first team all state last season, Porter picked up an offer from NAU not too long ago, and deservingly so.
I am very grateful to receive an offer from @NAU_Football Thank you @PflugradRobin @FBCoach_P @QC_football pic.twitter.com/J7kG4Ljrkk

Nolan Clement│6’3″ 220 lbs│Defensive Edge│Desert Mountain
This guy plays full speed every single play. He plays fast and hard and downhill. He stops the run tremendously and can get after the quarterback. His pass defense is off the charts, his speed right off the ball is top notch he is almost always the first guy moving off the snap. He plays well with his hands, multiple moves on the line and if he can’t get to the quarterback in time, he gets them up and bats balls away. I would love to see him in some pass coverage, seeing his speed and having elite size, Nolan adding that piece to his game would make him unstoppable. Receiving all of his offers in the month of May, expect June and July to be even busier for him. NAU offered him a couple weeks ago, being the first in state school to offer him.
Extremely proud to announce that I have received my 3rd D1 offer from Northern Arizona University @CoachChrisBall @FBCoach_P @coachJTaylor8 @coachconrad41 @CoachhZoe @DMWolvesFB pic.twitter.com/RqYBPN1fy5

Jackson Barton│Cornerback/Wide Receiver│6’1″ 175 lbs│Sandra Day O’Connor
Tall, long wingspan, quick, Jackson Barton is not your typical cornerback. Great in pass coverage and is a great tackler in the open field. He breaks out of his back pedal very well, turns his hips and breaks to where he needs to be on a dime. Being apart of the class of 2024, Jackson still has plenty of time to grow as a player, which will only help his college stock. 4.7 forty yard dash, he can stay on top of wide outs on deep plays, and shows it consistently on his tape. Jackson picked up his very first offer from NAU, where he could instantly make an impact on the field. Expect Jackson Barton to turn heads this season in Arizona and across the country, locking down offenses all year long.
So Blessed to Get My First Offer to @NAU_Football from @CoachChrisBall Thank you @CoachCole42 @coachperrone @Coach_Demory @TrueBuzzWestCo My Teammates and And everyone that helped me along the way AGTG🙏🏽 @gridironarizona @BHoward_11 pic.twitter.com/QPtZ73m9Cq
