We continued our team camp tour on Tuesday morning in Owasso. Rejoice Christian was host to Cascia, Cashion, Tulsa Hale, Berryhill, East Central, Kellyville, Metro, NOAH, Pawhuska, Sperry, Victory, and Woodland. Prep Redzone Oklahoma has coverage from several team camps all over the state. Now is a great time to check out the site and see who has been standing out over the last few days in Oklahoma. In this post, this is coverage from day one on a beautiful Tuesday morning.
Ethan Stites – 2023 RB/OLB – Berryhill
Probably one of the most impressive overall athletes on the day today was Ethan Stites out of Berryhill. It was impressive to watch him live at Rejoice Tuesday morning move around and play running back and outside linebacker. At 6’1″ and weighing 220 pounds, Stites was the most physical player out at camp that I watched. On the offensive side of the ball, he is a good downhill ball carrier and a hard runner. He shows good vision and footwork between the tackles. I also liked him in pass protection which I was able to see him go up against Daniel Okoye which was fun to watch. Defensively, he is a physical outside linebacker that annihilated split zone a few times with the H back coming to try to kick him out. He is aggressive at the point of contact and sheds blocks with ease.
Daniel Okoye – 2024 DE – NOAH
NOAH Jaguars came into camp with a few players that we wanted to check out. Daniel Okoye was one of the players that I came away impressed with. You can take one look at him and figure out why schools are jumping on board to get him an offer. I would put Okoye in the category with Stites as one of the most physically impressive overall athletes at the camp. He was demanding a double team and even at times, triple-teamed. When teams ran at Okoye, they didn’t have much luck in doing so. A lot of teams were running away from him. When Okoye wanted to be dominant, he didn’t have any issues in doing so. Okoye plays the down block well, squeezing and using his athletic frame to get him in position to make a play.
Ezra Ballinger Ezra Ballinger 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL NOAH | 2024 State OK – 2024 Tackle – NOAH
The second player that I wanted to watch from NOAH Tuesday morning was Ezra Ballinger Ezra Ballinger 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL NOAH | 2024 State OK , offensive tackle. Standing nearly 6’4″ he wasn’t hard to miss out on the field. He is an athletic tackle that can move out in space on screens or getting to the next level. He has a quick first step off the ball and utilizes his hands to fit up. Ballinger down blocks good and climbs to the second level to get hands-on linebackers. He likes to play physical and had a good day at camp. On the defensive side of the ball, he gains separation and gets down the line of scrimmage in what you like to look for. He doesn’t go straight upfield to create running lanes and shed blocks.
Kirk Francis Kirk Francis 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Metro Christian | 2023 State OK – 2023 QB -Metro Christian
We have had an eye out for Francis since his sophomore season at Metro Christian. We also watched him with Sooner 7 at a bunch of different locations for 7 v 7 tournaments. At Rejoice team camp, Francis picked up where he left off with his Sooner 7 team, and in my opinion, was the best throwing quarterback Tuesday morning. Francis is pinpoint accurate with the ball and has a quick release. He was able to find his running back or wide receiver in tight windows through the defense. You can tell Francis has been working on his footwork from his pocket presence and looked better scrambling outside keeping the play going with his eyes downfield. Francis has a great deep ball and he puts it where his receiver is the only one going to make the catch. He throws the ball with tremendous velocity. Francis makes playing the quarterback position easy by going through his progressions and making his reads.
Noah Wilson – 2024 TE/LB – Pawhuska
Pawhuska has several prospects that could be put on their list but one individual that stood out to me Tuesday was Noah Wilson. Wilson plays tight end on offense and linebacker on defense. Wilson could be the best blocker Pawhuska has upfront and it doesn’t hurt that he played offensive line last season. He has a great frame and moves well out in space on routes or covering his zone. Throughout the day, he made several physical plays on defense where he came downhill and attacked the ball carrier. As a tight end, he fires off the ball and engages with the defensive line using his hands. His hand placement and hips put him in a position to block anyone he faces. As a route runner, he finds green grass and catches the ball with his hands.
Cambreon Darby – 2023 DE – Tulsa Hale
Darby is an athlete that I had the chance to evaluate as we watched Friday Film review back in April and May. Darby was an athlete that had raw ability this past season but had an upside because of his length and his athleticism. Tuesday, Darby has gotten better with his hands and utilizes his quickness off the ball. Darby made several plays back in the backfield and created some turnover opportunities for Hale. Darby showed that he has been working this offseason on his craft and is an athlete that is picking up interest from several schools that have stopped by this spring.
Aidan Rhodes Aidan Rhodes 6'3" | 175 lbs | ATH Woodland | 2023 State OK – 2023 QB/Safety – Woodland
Another athlete that we had the chance to watch this spring through Friday Film Review is Aidan Rhodes Aidan Rhodes 6'3" | 175 lbs | ATH Woodland | 2023 State OK from Woodland. As soon as I watched his film back in the spring I was floored with his talents at both quarterback and safety. Rhodes is athletic and not only can he throw the football but he can tote the rock. He has designed running plays to get him on the perimeter or between the tackles where he is hard to bring down. Rhodes made good decisions throwing the ball Tuesday and made several plays with his feet. On defense, he seemed like he was climbing a ladder to go up and get this interception in the endzone where he came down with the ball. He made several plays on defense playing in coverage but also coming up and making tackles.
Stanley Rivas – 2023 WR – Sperry
If you have watched Sperry in the past, you know that they love to run the football. Now, they still love to run the rock, but I was able to watch Rivas at wide receiver and I was impressed with his athleticism. Numerous times throughout the day I saw him high point the ball over a defender and he came down with the ball. He did this not only once, but several times. He puts his body in the correct position and doesn’t hesitate to attack the ball. Rivas has good vision after he catches the ball as he gets upfield quickly. He can be a possession receiver and a home run threat that will boost the passing game of the Pirates this upcoming season.
Jayelyn Robinson – 2025 OL – Victory Christian
This is another player that we were able to take a look at during Friday Film Review back in April. Robinson has been working this off-season and trying to get better from when I watched him this past season. He is showing a better pass pro as he was not as high with a good bend and base. As an offensive lineman, you try to coach them to play to the echo of the whistle. You never have to worry about Robinson with this as he works the whole play. There wasn’t a time I watched him where I thought he was taking a play off. Robinson does a great job using his hands and firing off the ball. As he works his fundamentals on blocking, he does a good job of getting up to the second level. He skip pulls a lot while keeping his shoulders square and his feet are always moving.
Cooper Auschwitz Cooper Auschwitz 6'1" | 175 lbs | LB Owasso | 2025 State OK – 2025 WR/OLB – Rejoice
Rejoice has talented athletes on both sides of the ball. One of those players that caught my attention was Cooper Auschwitz Cooper Auschwitz 6'1" | 175 lbs | LB Owasso | 2025 State OK who plays wide receiver and outside linebacker. Things are looking good for Auschwitz, especially if he keeps playing the way he did on Tuesday at camp. Auschwitz looks like he is older out on the field making plays on both sides of the ball. It’s crazy to think that he is only going to be a sophomore this season. At outside linebacker, he would come off the ball hard and had several knockdown passes his way. He stays active with his hands in creating turnovers or getting off blocks to maintain his edge. At wide receiver, Auschwitz scored on several deep balls from Chance Wilson Chance Wilson 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK while using his hands to make the grab. Auschwitz had a good day one camp and is a talented player for Rejoice.
