Here are some North Georgia running backs who have a chance to have a breakout season this fall…
Caden Williams Caden Williams 5'11" | 200 lbs | ATH Calhoun | 2024 State GA – Calhoun
After an outstanding sophomore season last fall, it’s safe to say Williams is bound for another dominant season in 2022. As one of the top players on an always impressive Calhoun team, Williams over 1,500 yards on 200 touches while adding over 200 yards receiving. He’s a natural runner with great vision, and he had some big games against some of the best defenses in North Georgia. He has good size at 5-foot-11205 pounds with terrific feet. He has good burst and hits the hole hard. When he gets through the line, he’s tough to corral in the open field. He has good straight-line speed and can score on any particular play, finding the endzone 16 times last year. He’s a solid athlete, and he’s bound for an even bigger year as a junior this fall. He’s one of the top running backs across the state in the 2024 class and one of the best playmakers overall north of Atlanta.
Quan Moss – Elbert County
One of the top under the radar backs in Georgia, Moss is an elusive, tackling breaking back and was one of the most productive runners in North Georgia last year. Averaging 125 yards per game, Moss carried the offense on his back last year, running through defenses on a weekly basis. At 6-foot-1 200-pounds, he has plenty of size and tough to bring down by just one defender. He rushed for over 1,250 yards last season as a junior and scored 11 touchdowns. He also rushed for over 100 yards in 8 different games, proving to be one of the best and most productive backs in all of North Georgia. He runs with balance, and once he gets going, he knows how to break tackles at the next level. He runs with power, but he’s deceptively fast for his size. He’s a back people need to know about in North Georgia for the 2022 season.
Tyson Everett – Stephens County
A quick, slipper back, Everett was excellent last year as a junior, rushing for just over 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns. The team’s leading rushers and one of the best backs in thee region, Everett’s quickness and overall speed made it tough for defenses to stop all season. He hits the hole quickly and he’s a dangerous runner in the open field. He can run through small holes between the tackles and has enough speed to get to the edge as well. He shows good vision and follows his backs as well as anyone in the area. He can pull off a big run on any particular play, and he has the speed, vision, and experience to have an outstanding 2022 season.
Luke Windom Luke Windom 5'8" | 155 lbs | RB Bowdon | 2025 State GA – Bowdon
One of the most impressive and productive freshmen in the state last year, Windom showed big play ability for someone his age and ran wild on defenses all season. A smaller, shiftier back with speed, Windom plays bigger than his size and showed a lot of toughness as well. Playing against defenders above his age. Windom played like an experienced veteran, rushing for over 1,000 yards and 9 touchdowns while adding over 100 receiving yards as well. He hides behind his blockers well, and when there’s a hole, Windom can sneak through it. He’s another dangerous back in thee open field who always has his eyes on the endzone. He was a fun prospect to watch and he has a chance to have a breakout sophomore season in 2022.
