After back-to-back losses early in the season, I’m not sure if many in the state put Penn-Trafford in State-Title talks. The Warriors took two double-digit losses to Belle Vernon and Peters Township in what would inevitably be their only losses throughout the entirety of the year. Something clicked in the collective Warrior heads after their Week Four defeat, not looking back and running through competition in the regular season, securing a 5-0 conference record. Moon Area and vaunted Imhotep Charter threw their best punches at Penn-Trafford, yet the Warriors prevailed, winning 11 straight games to secure the 5A State Championship.
As an outsider, I’m not sure many prospects have had a steady rise like Conlan Greene Conlan Greene 6’4″ | 265 lbs | DL Penn-Trafford | 2023 State PA . In seemingly all aspects, Greene has seen his stock rise, whether that be through a recruiting lense, a team success lens, or in a camp setting. Just over a month ago, Conlan Greene Conlan Greene 6’4″ | 265 lbs | DL Penn-Trafford | 2023 State PA made his future intentions known, committing to Temple University just weeks after the Owls offered. We predicted Greene would begin to see D1 offers come in, so long as he stayed the course he was on. Happy to see it happen. As for this coming Fall, I expect PT to lean heavily on Greene’s entire skillset as a football player, not only as a defensive end but also at TE and possibly even QB.
Joseph Enick Joseph Enick 6’3″ | 280 lbs | DL Penn-Trafford | 2023 State PA is the second-highest ranking Warrior amongst our senior rankings, as well as the second FBS-committed senior on this Penn-Trafford team. The Warriors are already in prime position to dominate trenches, deploying two giant G5 talents along the defensive line. Last Fall, the combination of Enick and Greene gave elite offensive lines fits, proving they can be a two-man wrecking crew. I expect nothing to change here. Big congratulations are to Enick, who committed to Central Michigan early in June.
Greene and Enick aren’t the only ones reaping the rewards of an excellent Fall and a fine offseason. Daniel Tarabrella Daniel Tarabrella 6’3″ | 210 lbs | LB Penn-Trafford | 2023 State PA has seen a spike in recruiting, receiving his first two FCS offers out of Saint Francis University and Duquesne University. Tarabrella is the embodiment of what college coaches are looking for at their OLB positions. Long, athletic build that can move. If coaches at the next level aren’t satisfied with Tarabrella’s overall ability to move laterally, the kid has enough awareness and instincts to move to safety. I don’t think this route will be taken, Tarabrella seeks out ball carriers through traffic with ease. His prowess at the position matched perfectly with Enick and Greene down low. Anything the duo missed, Tarabrella was there to clean up. Fun player to watch, probably more fun to coach.
Here’s a prospect who doesn’t get enough shine on our site. Huffman picked up a Carnegie Mellon offer two weeks ago, matching his D3 floor grade we gave him. Huffman is more than capable of playing at the D2 level, another all-conference season on this PT team and the PSACs will begin to pull the trigger. Huffman, who played a huge part in this past season’s State Title run, is most likely not worried about personal endeavors. Huffman plays every role asked of him and does so to his fullest. You can see the motor, drive, and effort in his tape. Huffman can provide quality reps on offense, defense, and special teams. Can’t wait to see his role potentially expand this Fall.
Kalkstein is an interesting prospect. Every single title team we have previewed so far has had a player like Kalkstein. Someone who can contribute at all three levels. The young man starts off his junior tape with a kick return for a touchdown. Later in the tape, you can see the 6’2 weapon provide targets from the slot as a wideout. Kalkstein isn’t an athletic marvel but is slippery in the open field and has great field awareness that allows him to wiggle out of situations and gain huge chunks of yardage at a time. Can’t go without mentioning his ability to play free safety for the Warriors. Despite his slow start in recruitment, there is no way a D3 program in local areas wouldn’t want this young man’s assets. It will come.
Zachary Tomosovich
Zachary Tomosovich
Here’s a 6’6 starting tackle for a 5A defending State Champion who isn’t on the rankings. That’s going to change. Tomosovich is already gaining Group of Five interest, landing offers out of Miami (OH) and Toledo to boot. Tomosovich’s tape starts with a ridiculous interception that gets returned for a score from 20-yards out. Not sure if I mentioned that this young man is 6’5-6’6, weighing in at 320 pounds. He legitimately outran some kids on the field for what I imagine was his first score. Tomosovich can also double as a dominating nose guard. Adding Tomosovich into the mix gives you the sum of three total FBS prospects along the defensive line, all towering above inferior competition. Tomosovich provides plenty of A-B gap penetration but I can’t help being enamored with his abilities at right tackle. There’s no way a 320-pound man should move this smoothly. Tomosovich gets a Power Five grade out of me. This will be reflected in our rankings.
Parker Guy Parker Guy 5’10” | 190 lbs | ATH Penn-Trafford | 2025 PA caps off this preview with a quick look at a future piece of the puzzle for PT. Guy has been on our radar early, even before his impressive freshman tape was released. The kid excels on the 7v7 scene, translating all of his work onto the field in real padded football. Guy’s freshman tape is littered with splash plays that show off his ability to make something out of nothing. The kid has real YAC ability and acceleration if he can find a crease in a defense. Guy’s best football is ahead of him. I hope to see him become an effective contributor to the team this Fall.
