On the flip side, there’s tons of 2025’s that could potentially fill a big role and put themselves on the map here in 2022 that haven’t been discovered yet. Take a look at 5 players that I think could make a difference in the fall:
Elias Johnson Elias Johnson 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Saguaro | 2025 State AZ , ATH, Tempe
Johnson was already touted with a big role last year as a freshman at LB and RB. At LB, he shows good play strength to be able to fight through blocks frequently and put himself in position to make plays. He does a good job reading and reacting to plays and showed the ability to both line up in the box at MLB or play outside and stop the run outside the tackles. At RB, he displays solid physicality and balance to break intial contact and get himself upfield. Solid frame and build at 6’0″ 185lbs with big potential to be a top player in 3A for the next 3 seasons.
Christian Camarata Christian Camarata 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Brophy | 2025 State AZ , ATH, Brophy
Camarata has already flashed numerous intangibles to develop into a dangerous player as he continues to mature. His first play on film is impressive, proving he can leap up and win contested catches. Smart and sharp route runner from the slot as he does a great job running up the DB’s toes to burst into his route to generate clear separation and make timing simple for his QB. At DB, he did a solid job patrolling the back half showing some ball hawk ability. He flashes a nice burst to the ball with solid play and concept recognition. He has the athleticism to succeed at both DB and WR at the high school level while also flashing the ability to fill that KR/PR role.
Hezekiah Millender Hezekiah Millender 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Desert Edge | 2025 GA , QB, Desert Edge
Millender sizes up with a 6’1″ 175lb frame with good length and room to put on more height and mass within the next 3 years. He’s the definition of a playmaker behind center that projects to be an absolute gamechanger this fall. Dual threat QB with excellent twitch and COD with top end speed for big play ability on the ground. You can see the maturity and progress throughout his freshman season film. Live arm with the ability to use velocity vs touch, and did an impressive job reading defenses and delivering throws with accuracy/placement. Definitely going to be a special player with a high ceiling moving forward.
Taveon Sueing Taveon Sueing 5'11" | 160 lbs | WR Higley | 2025 State AZ , WR, Red Mountain
Sueing is a twitched up receiver with good burst and has really put his route running on display this offseason. He’s a sharp route runner with the ability to get in and out of breaks very efficiently without sacrificing explosiveness. Good top end speed as he’ll be dangerous after the catch or with the ball in space. I really like his body control through the route and while going up to make a catch, as he makes certain movements look effortless. A proven vertical threat from his freshman campaign and has definitely progressed this offseason in terms of a route runner. He’s prone for a big role with big potential to have a stellar sophmore season and land that 1st offer.
Kamarion Peete, LB, Higley
Peete is a kid that I think is going to make a tremendous leap from his freshman to sophomore season. He sizes up with a 6’2″ 210lb frame with good length and already looks the part. He’s displayed good speed to cover ground fairly quick and has attacked ball carriers with a low POC. He still has much room to develop instinctively, which I think could very well hapen this season with a year under his belt and the game aound him slowing down. Excited to see how quickly Peete develops and puts that skillset together, as he has the potneital to be a big time LB here in AZ.
